Re: Dash cam
My Nextbase camera is positioned just as monkeyhanger says. No issues with the footage.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:36 am It's just a sunshade. I'd put it to the left and slightly below the rear view mirror so the driver can't really see it from their normal driving position.

Lots of alloys for 18x8 wheels here for the polo gti: https://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/selection/?car_model_id=2213&year=2019&dia=18&width=18l0l8.00l8.00 Most wheels there are set up with an offset of 45 and a few have 48 offsets. Whatever you do, check fitment before lowering or driving off. My...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate
The Eagles won't last 3/4 of the time of the Michelins. In the video from 3m30s he talks about wear and from the data that is out there, pegs all three tires at similar wear. He also touches on the so called internet folk law about Goodyear having terrible wear which is no longer true. https://www....

Re: The Great Tyre Debate
Goodyear asymmetric 5 currently working out at £270 for 4 with NHS discounts compared to the pilot sport 4 at £355 with discounts. Are the pilot sports really worth the extra as I want mine changed as soon as car arrives? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_utfLrFaOM Have a watch of this. The Goodyea...

Re: Aftermarket Alloys
Rears needed an additional 3mm spacer to clear inside alloy hub from brake calipers.
Because I waited so long for the car I had the wheels and tyres ready to fit since day one of car ownership.

Re: Team Heko wind deflectors
Hello, I have fitted my deflectors and fronts are fine without clips as you say. Rears are ok but clips almost useless, would you be kind enough to send me a picture of how you placed the adhesive pads please? Thank you When fitting the rears, only one side will take a clip at the rear and instead ...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
Fitted gas bonnet struts and red paddle extensions today. Install was a breeze for both as I had all the necessary tools. For the gas struts you need the following tools: no27 6 points bit 12mm and 13mm sockets and a small adjustable spanner For the paddles, you just need some snipe nose pliers to p...

Re: Soundaktor deactivation guide
I remember saying to the salesman when I took it out for a test drive that the noise was quite impressive and he agreed...feel so betrayed now finding out its fake. Almost like misselling a product :?: For those who have disconnected it - is the sound now dissapointing? I've been contemplating disc...

Re: Soundaktor deactivation guide
Finally got round to unplugging the soundaktor. I found that the unit isn't screwed in, you can push the clip aside from the unit and remove the unit from its retaining bracket. Doing this will mean you can store the unit off the car and one less connector you have to tape up and risk getting water ...

Re: Soundaktor deactivation guide
Might give this a go. I've disabled the soundaktor via obdelevn but I'm sure when I put it into sports mode the soundaktor re-activates.
