Re: GTI Towbar
Just to add my two cents to this post as I'm currently looking into having one fitted to my 2019 GTI+ All aftermarket towbars won't fit the GTI or are labeled as excluding GTI models. This is because, as already discussed, the valance on the GTI gets in the way and has to be cut if you do indeed wan...

Re: DSG sticking in 2nd gear
Yep I've had the same problem happen quite a few times on my 19 plate GTI. Even reported it to the garage but they thought nothing of it as it couldn't be replicated on demand. I find it happens the most shortly after a new journey from a cold start. It only happens if you slowly build your revs (ab...

I'm ruling out a roof-mounted on as don't like the idea of lifting my bike onto the roof. If going for a trailer hitch based one has anyone got ...

On the Mk6 Polo GTI the headrest spokes are 15cm center to center with the spokes roughly 15mm each in diameter.

Re: Dash cam
My Nextbase camera is positioned just as monkeyhanger says. No issues with the footage.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:36 am It's just a sunshade. I'd put it to the left and slightly below the rear view mirror so the driver can't really see it from their normal driving position.

Re: The Great Tyre Debate
The Eagles won't last 3/4 of the time of the Michelins. In the video from 3m30s he talks about wear and from the data that is out there, pegs all three tires at similar wear. He also touches on the so called internet folk law about Goodyear having terrible wear which is no longer true. https://www....

Thank you When fitting the rears, only one side will take a clip at the rear and instead ...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
Fitted gas bonnet struts and red paddle extensions today. Install was a breeze for both as I had all the necessary tools. For the gas struts you need the following tools: no27 6 points bit 12mm and 13mm sockets and a small adjustable spanner For the paddles, you just need some snipe nose pliers to p...
