Re: Polo 6n2 intermitent non-start
Well after testing bad earth and finding nothing I bit the bullet and bought a new ignition switch. I unplugged the cable from the old into the new one and using screw driver turned it and the car fired up!!! tried it two more times and car starts every time. BUT my biggest problem now is how to get...

Re: 6n2 1.4tdi intermittent misfire to full misfire lumpy running
The first thing I would check is compression on all cylinders. Remove all spark plugs and take out fuses for the fuel pump and ignition systems. Put the compression test kit into each cylinder and crank for 8 turns at minimum. Report back with results.

Polo 6n2 intermitent non-start
Hello, I've been having issues with my Polo 6n2 1.0L 2000 not starting. It would sometimes start on the 3rd/4th go or even on first attempt but that's rare. To go over the basics: Battery - quite strong, plenty of charge tested on other cars and starts them up no issue Starter motor - it's literary ...

Re: Polo 6N2 2000 1.0L immobilizer issues
Well ignition coil helped and the car does start BUT mostly on the 3rd/4th go. Sometimes it does fire up on the first go but that's rare. Now I tried push starting it and it fires up right away, i'm really confused.

Re: Polo 6N2 2000 1.0L immobilizer issues
Ok I have tested all the fuses all seem great but what I also tested was the spark on all 4 spark plugs there was none. So there is no spark being sent to the spark plugs it seems. https://workshop-manuals.com/volkswagen/polo-mk3/power_unit/simos_injection_and_ignition_system/ignition_system_glow_pl...

Re: Polo 6N2 2000 1.0L immobilizer issues
Well as you suggested yes ebay is full on ECU kits for the Polo 6n2 but they also sell the instrument cluster, does that mean that along with the ecu + immobiliser + key chip I would need to replace the instrument cluster too?

Re: Polo 6N2 2000 1.0L immobilizer issues
Hi I pretty much had the same problem as you, mine got to the point where it would only fire up for a split second and then die, then it would only crank, your immobiliser might of given up, I changed the immo box, ecu and key chip and it now works fine, if you need to get those 3 parts then they a...

VW Polo Misfire in Cylinder 1
Hello everyone, Got an odd issue with the Polo 2004 1.2 3 cylinder. Scanning error codes a Misfire in Cylinder 1 showed up and upon doing measurement readings on VCDS I saw Cylinder 1 is misfiring but not on every compression. Seems to be like every 2nd or 3rd stroke there is a misfire as engine fee...

Re: Polo 2000 1.0 issues with starter motor
Fired up the car this morning all started quite nicely was actually surprised how quickly the starter spun on. Had a small ride so used the starter maybe 3 - 4 times and all seems good so far. BUT I bought a bigger steel bush, if goes badly I will drill the hole bigger to install the steel bush as a...

Re: Polo 2000 1.0 issues with starter motor
Well I got the bush and not looking that good tbh
I've lined all the sides with JB liquid metal but access to it was a right pain and did not apply evenly on all sides so sadly I don't have high hopes for it. Fingers crossed it will hold!!!

Re: Polo 2000 1.0 issues with starter motor
PLOT TWIST!!!! Took the starter motor out and noticed something odd. Look at this: https://i.imgur.com/Q8mztX3.jpg As you can see it's missing the bush: https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/g/mSMAAOSwWfFXkEwv/s-l225.jpg And I assume this would stop the starer from cranking properly. Now even if I add...

Polo 2000 1.0 issues with starter motor
Hi everyone, I got an odd one. Around Christmas time my old starter motor died, it would not engage and just made weird noises, turns out the drive pinion had snapped off. So I got it replaced the starter with a used one from ebay and all has been good :) Now the past month I started getting issues ...

Polo 2000 1.0 replacing the starter motor
Hi guys, Well the starter motor have given up on life, been having issues with it for a while but now it will no longer turn over. So I got a second hand one from ebay but I am not sure how to approach replacing it. Some people say to remove it from the bottom but to me it seems that air intake remo...

Re: Polo 1.2 2004 Battery overcharging?
Feel like a right idiot, realised the low battery icon on my multimeter and after replacing it, it shows 14.5V while engine is running and under revs. With engine is off it shows 12.6V.
