Just go ahead and replace the coolant temperature sender. It costs around £6 and you'll need to replace it sometime anyway. It might cure your problem, it might not - but it'll sure as hell cure any problems related it to it now or that you might get later!

Stalling Problems...possible temp sensor?
Having a bit of a crisis with the new polo I bought, well I say new its far from it, but new to me
1990 Polo 1.3CL mk3. Its starts and runs ok but as soon as it hit running temperature it stalls and won't start again until about 30 minutes later when the engine is cooled down.
