Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Things I noticed when cleaning this car compared to my previous generation GTI; When washing the car, the door mirrors have an annoying habit of unfolding and the folding if you have the key fob with you. Even hosing the car down, they kept doing this when a water jet made contact with the door han...

Re: GTI+ Sport Mode (Sound Vibration)

Wonder why the long wait? I bought a GTI last week, they had 6 to choose from in stock. Mix of GTI+ and GTI, I was a little late and was there were only two black GTIs left. Factory ordered towards the end of January and was due to take delivery beginning of May, but due to Covid/shutdowns etc it o...

GTI+ Sport Mode (Sound Vibration)

Hi all, I took delivery of my GTI+ last week (Finally! Been waiting since January :D ). Having had it for a few days and getting some time to have a little play I thought I'd give it a little run on the sport mode. I know the sound is all fake, but when it gets going at higher revs it gives an awful...

Re: New GTI

There have been a few turbo failures on standard cars. See this thread http://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=68427&p=511160&hilit=turbo+failures#p511160 Hope none of the bits have been ingested into the engine or damaged the cat. Make sure the garage can account for all the bits ...

Re: New GTI

 s**t the bed!! I'll take that as a no  they've given me a nice TSI Golf for the time being. Apparently the new turbo is arriving today and they'll let me know when it's fitted - could be tomorrow, could be next week. Touch wood that's not the start of a lot of issues! Went and got my b...

Re: New GTI

Haven't been on here for a while, thought I'd let everyone know the turbo went on my car last week though! 8,800 miles in! Started getting a horrible whining nouse 1500 - 3000rpm when driving. Took it into VW on Saturday morning and the tech drove it, said it wasn't right and managed to get some nic...

Re: GTI Insurance

When I spoke to VW to set up my 5 day free drive away insurance he gave me a quick quote of £2250 and asked if I'd be happy to proceed with that figure... MADNESS! I actually decided not to take the years free insurance out of fear of not being able to get it back to a lower cost. I was about half w...

Re: New GTI

Nice pics d7lan!

Looking forward to getting mine cleaned when the weather is a bit better and then taking some more pictures.

I've also got a little squeak, seems to be when I'm reversing back up onto the drive and gently brake.
