Bile carriers

So how do you carry bikes on the latest GTI?

I've been looking at the Saris Bones 3 but am concerned the straps foul the little black spoiler. I don't particularly won't to go down the roof rack and carrier(s) route.

Re: Steering knock

Thanks guys,

I doubt it's the brakes to be honest as they seem fine in all respects; it feels more like a strut issue, but what do I know :)

I'll take it into a dealer at some point, probably to be told it's fine or they're all like that sir......

Steering knock

Hi,

My now 800 mile old GTI has a knock in the steering at low speed, which can be felt and heard. It's at its worst when reverse turning but can also show it self when moving forward slowly.

Anyone else experienced this?

Re: New GTI

Can't wait for it too come now, only thing that gets me is that the DSG car's are down on torque. ... Clearly would have been too much of a rival for the golf GTI.

done to protect the gearbox.

people have found out who have tried to map DSG GTI's that the gearbox doesn't like it.

I was under ...

Re: New GTI

Digressing a bit the second video (now below) seems to show a rather poor 0 -100kph run. The guy sits on the limiter in 1st for a second or so before changing up. I'd have thought the outcome could have been a fair bit quicker.

Re: New 2016 GTI owner

Bridgestone tyres however have a lot to answer for. Goodyear, continental or Dunlop all the way

Thought you might say that. I know ther're sh1te on BMW's and have always preferred Continentals or Michelins. Problem is there're brand new so I'm not going to ditch them.

Thanks for your your ...

Re: New 2016 GTI owner

Look into the wheel arches and youll see big foam blocks in the springs if the transport blocks are still in

Thanks Alex,

I've had a look and the blocks have been removed as you'd expect.

I've tried lowering the tyre pressures a bit more but it doesn't seem to have made much difference. Looks ...

New 2016 GTI owner

Hi,

Thought as a brand new owner and forum member I thought I'd say hello, share my first impressions and ask my first questions :D

Collected the car yesterday and really quite pleased with the aesthetics and interior appointment. My car is in basic spec and flat white so doesn't have all the ...
