Re: ABS Coding after upgrading brakes

If this turns out to be true might I be better off upgrading rears to 270mm to keep the braking balance? That's exactly what I did on my 6R MY2010, because my ABS Unit (Bosch 8.2i) doesn't support 310/232 brakes coding. I custom designed, produced and installed a pair of brackets which move the ori...

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

You're welcome! :D It seems like ABS Bosch 8.2i of the first production years is the main culprit of bad brake pedal feeling. I once test drove a friend's Polo 6R GTI MY2010 with 288mm front brakes and Ø22,22mm MC combined with ABS Bosch 8.2i: the brake pedal was very spongy, with poor reactivity an...

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

My brake pedal felt pretty good with stock brakes (256mm front, 232mm rear), but I already had sport suspensions (Bilstein B12 at that time) and HEL Performance stainless steel braided lines. It became softer and less reactive (with a longer travel) only after I upgraded to 288/312mm front calipers....

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

Yes, it was. At least on my engine bay. Firstly, I removed the airbox and the intake hoses to give me more space. Then, to avoid brake liquid dripping on other components during the removal of the old master cylinder, I did as follows: - I removed all the brake liquid inside the reservoir with the h...

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

Well, I've just installed the Ø23,81mm brake master cylinder and all I can say is wow ! :o :D The pedal is much stiffer and more reactive and pedal travel is much shorter: I would say 50% shorter. It gives me the confidence I always wanted after having upgraded the front brakes to 288/312 setup. Her...

No, I didn't, but I could translate it when I'll have some free time. In the while, you can read it using Google Translate. :)

Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING

Does anybody know what these channels in Adaptation (ESP 8.2i) are for? 21 : 0 - 1 - 2 (default value "1") 51 : 0 - 1 (default value "1") 73 : 0 - 1 (default value "1") 99 : 0 - 255 (default value "0") Another question: is there a way to perform Basic Setting for Yaw Rate Sensor (G202) and Longitudi...

Don't worry, iichel! :)
I've just ordered the 23,81mm brake master cylinder.
I'll update this topic as soon as it arrives to me.

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

Nope. The R WRC has the 23,81mm master cylinder like the 6R GTI MY2013 and the 6C GTI. :)

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

In reality, my Audi S1 doesn't have the 8J1611021E master cylinder, but the 6C1611019A or C one. 8J1611021E master cylinder is from Audi TTRS/RS3 and it has both hard lines connected from its left side, but at a different angle than on 22,2/23,81mm master cylinder: https://i.ibb.co/LRwCHmg/5641-A3-E...

Re: Polo 6R --> 6C Tail Lights conversion: parking lights not working.

I tested both OSRAM LEDriving lamps that I showed above, the quality of the emitted light is excellent (for SCLs and P/S lights), but I found that although they fit well in their corresponding places, they do not do so in such a precise way like halogen bulbs. I think it is possible that with time,...

Re: 6R Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

Today I opened the hood of my S1 and took a look at the brake master cylinder. Unfortunately it is very different respect to the 22,2mm and 23,8mm master cylinders. https://i.ibb.co/3hpNyN9/cof.jpg https://i.ibb.co/BPqj0gG/4b988692-34f6-4fcb-8ec0-06ce1f1fa20c.jpg As you can see, the second hard line...
