Re: The mysteries of part numbers? CBZB Timing chains??
As I already said, I'm not an expert and I don't have engineering knowledge. All I know comes from my direct personal experience and intuitions, so take it with some grant of salt. Judging by the photos you uploaded, it looks like the 1.2 TSI oil pump chain cover already has sort of a hole at the bo...

Re: Misterious disconnected wire in rear boot lid
Well, to give a definitive ending to this topic, these are the photos of the final result. Thanks again to Ciclo! :D https://i.ibb.co/kSD1tW9/IMG-20240106-122758.jpg https://i.ibb.co/kJMYDSZ/IMG-20240106-122810.jpg https://i.ibb.co/GH8KdKZ/IMG-20240106-123506.jpg https://i.ibb.co/7XtpD9Q/IMG-2024010...

Re: Misterious disconnected wire in rear boot lid
Well, that clears out the mistery! :D It is definetely a ground wire. Thank you, Ciclo! At this point, I guess, my second radio antenna (specifically, the FM frequency modulation module) was not working as it should, despite not showing any error in the control units, but causing a lower radio signa...

Re: Misterious disconnected wire in rear boot lid
What I suspect is that yellow wire is not connected to any ground point at all, so I can't check the continuity with a multimeter as you suggested. If that wire should be a ground wire and it is disconnected from any ground point, should I expect any malfunction? What can I check to understand if th...

Re: Misterious disconnected wire in rear boot lid
Thank you, ciclo! I think the culprit might be a guy who made a repair job on my car years ago... :x My suspect is that the wiring harness has been installed upside-down and that yellow wire should be connected to the ground point behind the rear left boot panel. Surprisingly, everything seems to wo...

Re: The mysteries of part numbers? CBZB Timing chains??
I don't know if somebody ever tried this, but I'd personally would be afraid of doing it. I'm not an expert, but something makes me think that the spring inside the piston of the old tensioner version would be too much compressed and it could not work properly or (in the worst case) it could brake, ...

Misterious disconnected wire in rear boot lid
Hi everybody and Merry Christmas! :D Last day I was installing the rear flip camera and when I removed the rear boot lid, I suddenly found myself in front of a disconnected wire, which looks like a ground connector. :o  :? https://i.ibb.co/NFVPhdF/IMG-20231223-130527.jpg https://i.ibb.co/DQ3F...

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
Thank you, Ciclo! :D I simply cutted and removed the G250 wiring and I left the connector plugged on the pump. Then I used a cutted rubber glove's finger tightened with a little plastic tie to seal the few cms of exposed cutted wiring and protect it from any oxydation and dirt. Apparently the G250 s...

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
Today I've finally replaced my steering rack with the PR-1N4 one. These are a few pictures of the old PR-1N2 steering rack I removed and of the front subframe: https://i.ibb.co/WKRwWp2/IMG-20231203-173128.jpg https://i.ibb.co/1R9MpF5/IMG-20231203-173133.jpg This is the PR-1N4 rack installed on the s...

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
My steering coding is *12**, so it uses the signal from G85 sensor, but I still wanted to try unplugging G250 sensor's connector to be 100% sure it's not used by something else (or at least to find a reason why it's plugged in). At this point, I really can't understand why VW didn't installed a 6R1 ...

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
Sorry for the delay, but I've been pretty busy and I didn't have time to check till today. Well, surprisingly, my car not only has the G250 sensor, but also it has the wiring that connects it tot the steering pump. :? I had to remove the airbox to see the G250 sensor's connector (I alaso had to spra...

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
That would explain why Polo 6R's steering rack (only PR-1N2) is used as a replacement for Polo 9N3's steering rack. Not all Polo 9N3s have the ESP and consequentially they need a G250 sensor.
As soon as I check under my car, I'll report here.

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
If I'm not wrong, my Polo has a steering rack with part number 6R1423055D.
I didn't check under my car, but searching for images on Google I see that this rack has a G250 sensor on its top.
*confused*
Tonight I will give a look under my car and report here.

Re: Steering rack upgrade from PR-1N2 to PR-1N4
That would be amazing!
Before starting the replacement, I will try just unplugging the G250 sensor's wiring and see what happens.
I will let you know
Thank you so much for now!
