Re: Wow! A proper hot hatch

Ended up with a XR3i EFI ....eventually with 105bhp that was similar to the original MK1 GTI but heavier so 0-60...

Re: Removing Black Box
My step daughter's car had a black box which was attached to the top of the battery. When she switched insurers they said they don't remove them as they are effectively disposable. It remains on there to the current day. And I believe continues to record the driving standards!! Still come the new E...

Re: New GTI + delivery
Sometimes air circulates if there is a significant difference in temperature between outside and inside if the vents are left open which sets it off but only heard this happening in the summer. Could try turning off the internal sensor to see if it continues to happen?

Should not be a problem even if it uses Bluetooth as the frequencies are different.

Re: 6R GTI Misfire detected
Could be a number of things. Ross Tech site for the error code is not very helpful as the list is long and general and suggests: Wiring/Connector(s). Ignition system. Fuel injectors. Fuel pressure. Running out of fuel. EVAP canister purge valve. Evaporative emission system. Low compression. Since it...

Re: Dry Dipstick - How much Oil do you get through?
The 1.4 TSI engine (petrol) takes about 4 litres of oil when doing an oil change plus more if the filter also changed. It will still have some in the engine so top up carefully say - a couple of litres and then check using the dipstick. If none showing on the dipstick with the engine cold do not dri...

Yes they can viewtopic.php?f=56&t=71768
You can get light switches with both rear and front fog light positions from the internet. You will need a wiring diagram to locate the correct wiring points.

Re: Handbrake problem, help?
If you bought it from a garage a week ago then return it to them as it would not pass a MOT. Otherwise servicing the brakes involves removing wheels and stripping down the rear brake assemblies and checking free movement of all moving parts. It is likely the auto adjust that takes up normal brake we...

Re: New Blue GT owner
You are better to get VW car mats. My VW ones have lasted over 8 years and are still in good condition but have got through two sets of aftermarket ones in only 5 years where I specified logo and trim colour.
