Re: new fuel consumption & emission tests letter.
Modern small turbo engines typically perform far from the test figures. They chuck out much more CO2 And burn much more fuel when the turbo is in full swing.
However the figures are there for comparison between makes and models only. They are not meant to be realistic! People often forget this.

Re: Hill start question
For a manual: Hill hold usually is only activated by putting your foot on the brake on an incline then taking it off. It does not set itself when the handbrake is on. If it is engaged you simply drive off and it will release when it detects pull on the brakes correlated to raising the clutch/throttl...

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)
Sorry to revisit this, but just got around to fitting. So do I also need the special tools/keys to pull out the infotainment system (or does it come out when the glove box comes out? Cheers, Mark Thanks for that. Same link as I was going to buy from, so good to know. I was quoted GBP 450 for supply...

Re: Gti and Gti plus available to configure
A GTI plus pretty much has all the options - what did you add to get to that price?!
Scratch that - I added pretty much everything and made it to £28k... Mind boggling!

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE
A golf gti would set you back about £25k even after carwow - I know as I’ve specced one up! If you add in climate to the polo gti plus so it has the same spec as a golf gti, a manual car will be about £22k BEFORE carwow prices, so probably at least 2k off there. I’m not sure the extra £5k for the g...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE
he 1.5 R-line, GTI and GTI+ have appeared on the UK configurator! As predicted by somebody the 1.5 EVO in the R-line is actually more than the base GTI. The GTI+ also is a decent saving for the number of spec upgrades you get. Orangewheels pricing actually turns out to be pretty close! Personally I ...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE
If anyone obtains any information on the 1.5 Evo I'd be very interested. Might find though that a Golf could be cheaper. Depends on discounts. The 1.0 Polo SEL seems expensive to me. It's about £4000 more for comparable spec to my SEL. Bonkers. Are you comparing like with like? I’ve looked at what ...

Re: PCP Voluntary Termination
No resistance at all. Ring and ask for your figure to voluntary terminate (which is half of the full amount owned). They will tell you either how many more payments you have or what you would need to pay to hand it back. If you decide to go for it they send you a form, you pay your money, they then ...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE
Thanks for posting the GTI video. Very informative. I'm a fan of blue but maybe a bit too dark for a GTI. Model that I am interested in is the 1.5 be good if anyone hears of any info on that one. Thanks. Disappointingly, according to the back of the brochure, the 1.5 evoTSI will be available in R-l...
