Re: 16 plate GTI - clutch rubbing/grating

Does it do it as soon as you press your clutch pedal, might it be a noisy clutch release bearing !

Re: People parking too close / opening doors - grrr!

If you get an allocated parking spot in a corner and park right over that's the best you can hope for otherwise get something with its own drive.
I'm sure you are not alone, a lot of people with nice
(looked after) cars are "Anxious Parker's " including me.

Re: People parking too close / opening doors - grrr!

Cars are getting bigger, you compare the original polo with the latest.
Only problem is I don't think parking bays have got much wider !

I can park in a nearly empty car park and someone will park really close next to me......why do they do that !

Re: GTI Owners; Does your car encourage bad driving behaviour by other drivers?

People's driving habits are getting worse I think, I don't have a GTI but still get it.
If I can't read the number plate in my mirror then they're too close and it happens more times than I like !

Glad to hear a good result for you Stu.
If it does happen again ( hopefully it won't) you know where to go.

Re: People parking too close / opening doors - grrr!

I park like you... what's wrong with these people you will have to spend your hard earned money to put it right and you will because you like to look after your car. Having used them I can recommend Chips Away, the one I used in Gloucester did an excellent job. You could not tell there had been any ...

Re: People parking too close / opening doors - grrr!

As you can see from my earlier post a disabled bay is no guarantee and when you get out of the car people watch you, I think they want you to crawl from the car to the supermarket to justify your badge. Getting back to topic most people put their hand between the door and the next car so as not to d...

Re: People parking too close / opening doors - grrr!

My previous car was parked in a disabled bay in Tesco, stacks of room either side but when I came out someone had scraped along rear door and wheel arch !!!!
You look after your car and some moron does that........I was just as angry as you and I don't think you was over reacting at all.

Talk about Torque

Re: 1.0 litre SEL 110ps Massive Problems

Looked at your video and it doesn't seem right ! We all get the odd clunks and knocks in the car and I've had the odd clunk from the gearbox but 99% of the time it is a completely quiet gear change and it's the same car as yours. If I was to try a used car and it made that noise I wouldn't buy it. T...
