Glad you're pleased and I agree the SEL TSI does pull very well.
The wipers have a service position so you can lift the drivers side wiper up safely.
I think you operate the quick wipe after turning off the ignition but it's in the handbook if you want to have a look.

Video might be a good idea, I have the same model and can't say that I've heard any strange unexplained noises. I do get tyre roar (flapping noises) but that's not the fault of the car.

I had a similar problem but with multiple scratches (also on a black car) Used Chips Away and I must admit it was a perfect job, you can't tell it's been done and I had a lifetime guarantee. I've had that with lots of cars, you think it's in first but it has to go a bit further......you get used to it.
It does go straight in sometimes and the same can be said for reverse.
You'll know when it's not in as the gears crunch.....as i'm sure you've found out.

I don't think they do for all....SEL does but dealer will confirm.
