Hi

I got the machine on a daignostic machine and they recalibrated the throttle body and it is now ok.

i have one other problem when driving and the car is in gear, i take my foot of accelration and at 1800rpm it jerks until it either drops or goes above that

only happens at 1800rpm

what could ...

i disconnected battery for an hour again

but still no joy revs still at 2000rpm

I ran carb cleaner through. When starting car the revs were 2500rpm.

i disconnected the battery for an hour. Put back on but idling between 1800-2100rpm

i drove the car today for around 20 miles locally but revs still high!

is it dangerous to have high revs??

not sure what to do now?

also to add the fans didnt kick in either! would the thermostat cause this?

is it easy to do?

Was driving this evening all of a sudden temperature went past 90 to 110

stopped car checked and there was no leaks.

there was like a weird hissing noise coming from the pipe from the expansion tank! probably cos it was toooo hot!

turned car off for about 10 mins then set off again it heated ...

could it be the distributor coil???? this was changed about 3 1/2 years ago!

i changed the distributor cap!

Just to add when i do accelrate it makes like a bump like you have gone over a pothole or something. but quickly accelration on gas misses the ...

I thought this problem had gone but was driving this morning and the car jerked when putting foot on gas. i stopped car and the problem went.

Orignally started when i disconnected the battrey and changed the spark plugs.

has been ok though for at least 2 and half weeks but there is slight ...

finished work today and i stalled the car when i started it as it was in gear! doh! but what happened is the time reset along with journey miles! why would this happen?

then car started to jerk again when accelarting then stops once constant accelration!!!

its only when u put ure foot on gas ...

yeah will try that as well cheers!

i cleaned it with a cloth last week but didnt do much! also sanded down a bit of the contacts which were not proper clean!

just puzzled as to why it started to happen when i changed the spark plugs?

I changed the temp sensor yesterday! it seems ok at the mo but i canfeel slight hestitation in accerlation bu very minimum. im going to see how it goes if it comes back then will put old plugs in.

Also another question, in the morning when starting the car, i reve the car but when taking foot ...

I will do that but when driving the car on friday it was fine after a while.

it started to jerk as normal i stopped the car and it was ok. but when you quickly put your foot down you miss the jerks. Only when you accelrating slowly it happens around 2000rpm. After driving for a while on friday ...

another note from the above
oh yeah that day i now remember that there was a blue lead which i released was an alarm lead it was connect to the bonnet where there is a latch. all i did here was reearth it. I moved the wire from the bottom of the latch to the top???

could this be the cause?

mine jerks when accerlating but it only happens sometimes when i drive especially when going up a small hill or something. happens on a daily basis though but is random

so i normally just turn the car off and back on then it seems ok for a bit

i got the plugs checked and they are ok. the garage said that the gaps should be standard.

only problem with replacing with old bits is that i only have 3 of the 4 plugs! if i leave one of the news one in there and replace other 3 with old should that make a difference?

I have just changed my spark plugs. After changing them i drove the car and the car started to jerk when accerlating.

So i changed the HT Leads but the problem still persists!

Any ideas what could be causing this?
