Re: GTI
For sure 6C beats 6R but then so does the cost. The 6Cs are becoming more affordable but they demand a hefty premium over a 6C. Depends what the budget is. I had a Fabia vRS estate a few years ago and it was great...but admittedly I had it from new and sold it at 18 months old so never experienced t...

Re: New GTI
According to the VW web site the low screen wash indicator is a part of the winter pack and includes the headlight washers and is not standard with just LEDs but we all know that the site is not always correct. Seems that headlight washer is a requirement for low screen wash warning. Yeah they are ...

Re: 10k/nearly a year with the 6C GTI
Get your car mapped, a set of eibach springs and an exhaust and it will be 50% better, trust me... :) I've come from an M135, a stage 4.25 GT-R and a 720bhp E63amg and I absolutely love my polo now I've done the above mods. Standard the car is , well , a tad dull.... Yeah quite believe it as Ive sa...

Re: 10k/nearly a year with the 6C GTI
Having owned and run a M135i, the fuel economy is around 50 miles a tank different. Shows how good the mpg is n the Bimmer for what power is on offer Yeah for a 315hp 3.0 turbo six you really cant grumble. I absolutely love the things and v familiar as my Dad had one up until he died a couple of ye...

Re: New GTI
If you have the LED lights then for sure it will have headlamp washers and so the low fluid warning. Note that with the higher end trip computer (dot matrix variety) on these cars you dont get the dash warning light rather it will come up "washer fluid low" on the computer with a warning l...

Re: Turbo
Yes it is an IHI IS12. The 2.0 has the IS20 up to 245hp...the high output variants the IS38. Its not a bad turbo, some reported failures but not endemic and mostly early life failures. My May 2015 car is driven prety hard, has nearly 41k on the clock and is just fine. With a decent tune/box and brea...

Re: UK configurator and brochure / price list available
Standard specs arent particularly wow either. Looks like only the SEL comes with standard Nav. Looks like with the GTI its gonna be a case of having to throw the options list at it (or opt for the +) to get a decent spec. Like I mean come on...the current GTI wasnt fantastic but it did have LED ligh...

Re: UK configurator and brochure / price list available
Agreed think its a shame the Polo has gone 5 door only, not that 5 doors is a bad thing but its nice to have the choice Im also not 100% that the new Polo is better looking than the 6C....certainly the GTI in any case. Probably a grower but looking at it, doesnt shout to me "buy me, buy me"...

Re: What did you and your 6R/C do today?
Pretty certain someone hit my rear bumper with their door, just below the line where the quarter panel meets the bumper  It's so small that I think only I notice it, could just be going mental though... also a rock scratched one of my BBS CV's at work (construction site can't do much about it...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good alloy-wheels cleaner?
Gather Meguirs stuff is good. I tend to use Auto Glym wheel cleaner, but its only good for painted/powder coated wheels. You need something gentle on a diamond cut wheel...to be fair I only ever use car shampoo and water on mine. Diamond cut wheels seem to start killing themselves after about 18/24 ...

RE Bluetooth....for some time during the 6R model run VW UK started fitting their imported cars with their "accessory option" Bluetooth Touch system when they landed in the UK. Im not sure at the time the UK Polo was technically available from the factory with factory Bluetooth so it allow...

GPS antenna location - Polo 6C GTI with Nav
Hi folks.... Random question but where on earth is the GPS antenna on a 6C Polo with factory Discover Navigation? I know on most VAGs if they have Nav they have a sharkfin antenna but the 6C seems to have the same radio antenna regardless of whether Nav is installed or not so dont think its on the r...

Re: Uneven air from centre vents
I have climatronic in my 6C GTI and I must confess I dont find it all that wonderful. On really warm days you tend to have to have it on LO with the fan fairly jacked up to not start getting warm from solar radiation from outside. It will however start icing the screen up on colder wetter days if tu...

Re: Engine judder at idle
Think thats half the problem with main dealer maintenance. The service you get is only ever as good as the technician you get assigned on the day. A seasoned master tech will definitely be more thorough and consistent than a regular tech or apprentice; just the way it is I guess. Also they just tend...
