Re: 10k/nearly a year with the 6C GTI
Cheers SRGTD. It really is a fabulous little car despite some of its arguably very minor shortcomings; I nearly bought a Mk3 Octavia vRS TDI instead of it.....probably would have made more sense in some ways (even better on fuel for one) but glad I didnt. I had been umming and arring over changing i...

Re: Engine judder at idle
I thought it was solved but no its still doing it. I think it must just be a characteristic as VW found no faults on the car or ECU updates.
My cars done nearly 41k miles and aside from this hasnt skipped a beat. I dont think its anything to get particularly worried about.

10k/nearly a year with the 6C GTI
So Ive had my 6C GTI for over 10k miles now (really about 11) and approaching a year end of Dec. I just wanted to give a brief right-up on what I think of the car, how its been over that period and the pros and cons of owning one. Hopefully it'll make a reasonable tead for someone buying one or thin...

Re: Engine judder at idle
Holy thread revival but I had been experiencing the same with my 2015 6C GTI. I asked VW to investigate this today as it was in for a major (40k mile) service and other minor warranty work. They found no fault but the plugs were changed as part of the service and it runs sweet as a nut now, rock ste...

Re: [DIY] Polo 6C Headlight Washer Retrofit
Sorry guys, I cant help with wiring but I can help with the reason behind the level sensor with headlamp washers. When the low level is triggered it does (certainly on all the factory spec'd VAG cars ive had) disable the headlamp washers as its not good for the high pressure pumps to run without flu...

Re: Red Badges
A little while...the guy is based in Canada. I think he posts them straightaway via Canada Mail but it then takes a few weeks for the snail mail to arrive. Really like the product and to me made more sense than buying the badges. Ive had mine on the car for several months now....only one skin has a ...

Re: The Dark Art of Hill Hold on DSG
Hill hold with DSG is vital in my opinion. I had a Mk2 facelift Octavia vRS DSG that didnt have it and it was a nightmare. The problem with DSG is that occasionally the clutches dont lock up when you expect them to....or v v occasionally dont at all. Its most disconcerting when you are in a hill (ei...

Re: Oops
Man I feel for you.....been there albeit some years ago with my wifes old 9N3. Car was only 3 weeks old with 350 miles on the clock and took it up the rear whilst practically stationary...the other car probably doing 30/40mph at time of impact. Ours should have been a write-off but our insurance com...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE
It looks quite nice. I'm not so sold on all the straight line seams down the side and across the tailgate at the moment...looks a bit over designed but I expect it'll be a grower. The A0 platform will have a beam rear, multilink in a car like this isnt cost effective. Its disappointing its only rece...

Re: Max Torque Rating on Manual 6C GTI
Gearbox is the MQ350 same as used in the Golf R and many others.
The box is v strong....the clutch is the weak point but it'd take a stage 1 quite happily....but I wouldnt want to push much more than 300lb/ft through it.

Re: First ever polo
Only the heavier 2.0TDIs upwards tend to have AdBlue. Its only applied on specific vehicles to make them EU6 compliant.
Take the Golf GTD...184 TDi but no AdBlue....the Passat 150 TDi does without too but the 190 and 240 has it.

Re: Auto locking doors
can be done take it to a VAG specialist and they might do it for £10 Is probably the best option to be fair unless you are happy to use something like Carista, ODBeleven or go with a full house VCDS cable and software. I used Carista to do this car, but a few years back I had a new Mk2 Octavia vRS ...

Good job they weren't DCC's....think they cost c. £250/corner! Not looking forward to having to change one on mine at that cost!

Re: GTi Tyres (again)
Got sorted in the end. Went for another set of Potenza although they really struggled as it was so hot at Bedford! At 8pm it was showing something like 22.5 degrees which for the UK is hot for May! I let them down 5psi but I think more may have been needed! Regarding their performance I still can't...
