Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

Finally made a decision. Can't wait any longer for a possible 1.5 Polo. Tempted by a MK7 Golf but new MK8 due soon and would wait for problems to materialise and hopefully be ironed-out before purchase. So decided to do a 2yr Contract Hire. Have done Contract Hire in the past. A Seat Leon 1.5 TSI wi...

Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

Maybe I'm no longer keen on the 1.5!

Seems to be one problem after another.

What should I get to replace my Golf.

Re: R-line 115

I'd very much like to know what people think of the performance of the 1.0 115PS engine.

Interested to know if you think it's underpowered in any way.

In case anyone wonders why I'm asking it's because I have a 1.4 TSI Golf and the engine is superb. Not sure if the 1.0 is.

Thanks very much.

Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

Spoke to my local dealer today and asked about a 1.5 Polo. He is confident there will be one. So I wait a bit longer before deciding what to buy.

Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

I've seen nothing official just can't understand why it isn't being offered. I don't see it being WLTP related as the engine is currently available on other vehicles in the Audi, Skoda, Seat and VW family.

Maybe I should test drive a 1.0 litre but can't imagine it's anything like my Golf 1.4TSI.

Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

Doesn't look as if the Polo is going to be getting the 1.5 TSI engine. Don't really want to buy a Golf now with the MK8 not that far away.

Been looking at the new Audi A1 due soon. It has a 1.5 TSI engine so l think I will buy one of those.

Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

Thanks Matt for the update. I really hope it materialises. I have a 1.4 TSI on a Golf and the engine is superb.

I just can't imagine driving a 1.0 engined car and feeling the engine isn't being worked too hard.

Polo's everywhere!

Currently in Menorca and I've seen many more new Polo's in a few days here as I have since being launched in the UK.

Seems lots of hire car companies have them.

Unfortunately for me my hire car is a really boring Opel Corsa.

Been great to have had a new Polo.

Hope you enjoy your new car.
Shame there's no sign of the 1.5 engine.
I'm struggling to get my head round there only being a 1.0 engine.

Re: When will we get the 1.5 engine?

I had my sights on a 1.5. To me I feel a 1.0 just isn't enough. I can imagine having to work the engine hard, something I don't have to do with my 1.4 TSI. Why don't they have a 1.4 engine. Such a shame. Might just have to wait for the MK 8 Golf.

Re: Lead and Delivery Times (App Problems!)

Makes you wonder where all the cars are. I've seen one on the road in the UK and had a week in Madrid last week where I thought I would see plenty. Saw just one! :?

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

I noted some comments about the door pockets and the cheaper materials used. Sat in a T-ROC in a showroom and was very surprised to find the top of the dashboard is all made of hard plastic! Not nice to look at or touch. Was somewhat relieved to find soft materials on the Polo. Whilst there I asked ...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

Thanks for the informative reply above. I'm interested in the R line 1.5. What has surprised me is the very small price difference shown further above between a 1.0 SEL 115 DSG and a 2.0 GTI DSG. Can it really be less than an £800 difference. To me a 1.0 engine is going to have to work very hard. No...

Re: 2018 Polo NEW SHAPE

If anyone obtains any information on the 1.5 Evo I'd be very interested. Might find though that a Golf could be cheaper. Depends on discounts. The 1.0 Polo SEL seems expensive to me.
