Re: Parts to buy
Question, does this padded armrest ratchet to different levels (heights)? or is it like the one that comes on the Polo as standard does it simply lift or close all the way?

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?
ok I just refilled and I did 430 on the tank I put in 36ltrs so I think that gives me just over 54MPG. I do think that's due to the very mild weather we have been having. On some drives I have had mid 60s for the drive, on nice mild days over the weekend. when the temperature drops to around the -1t...

Re: What would you change about your Polo?
I have rear pre crash protection on mine. it is supposed to pre tension seat belts close the sunroof and windows. One of those things you can test and hope you never have to use.

Re: What would you change about your Polo?
I would have ordered a larger fuel tank if one was on offer. say 60 ltrs. that would keep me out of the fuel station for ages. I would dearly have liked the 1.5 evo engine. 2.0l GTI is not for me if the GTI was the only polo available I would not have got one. I would also have liked a completely po...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!
ok from my experiencing a large uplift in economy of my polo I am now just on 1/2 tank and 260 miles. allowing for the first1/2 tank to be bigger than the second (I dont know why it just seems that way) I will be on for around 500 miles from a tank! that will be the most on a tank of driving around ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!
It is very odd, I m in the area of +20% fuel economy over that of the cold snap at the start of Feb. It could be just the software readout rather than a real saving. I bet I still get around 420ish miles from the tank before I fill up. I am seeing readings in the 60s+ I was getting 50+ in reasonable...

Re: Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser
I don't have the GTI so I do not see why anyone would want to steal a 115 SEL Polo. Surely they will target expensive or high powered cars. Yeah, car thieves seem to fall into two groups. Professional thieves that are stealing with a buyer in mind and joy riders. I can't see a humdrum Polo appealin...

Re: My thoughts on the DSG and the driver profiles
I only noticed yesterday while tinkering that Eco mode shows E before the gear number rather than D or S......Interestingly it reset to D even though it was in Eco mode still after turning off and back on again. My start sequence. Push button to start car, allow it a few seconds to settle, press dr...

Re: Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser
Well when I was looking for a new car I started taking security into account. So I started looking for a car to suit my needs first then discarded the idea of a GTI in case it attracted boy racing thieves. then I chose a grade car that had an alarm and engine immobiliser. The New size Polo fitted my...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!
Something has happened to my fuel economy after getting my car back from VW a few weeks ago. I have been getting over 60MPG yesterday it was about 10 degrees and dry. I drove about 16 miles across town and back (survey to carry out) and I was getting around the Mid 60s MPG by the time I got back. I ...

Re: Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser
Hey all. Anyone know much about the 'Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser'? I've been looking into it before the GTI+ arrives and it looks like a good bit of kit. Here's a demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7lkHj_1pSM . I don't think it's supported yet, but something I'd definitely consider if/when it d...

Re: Dangerous driving
I have seen a few reports of cyclists shopping drivers that the cyclist considers were too close as the car drove past, using headcam footage. Now I usually try to leave a safe margin of about 1-1.5 mtrs as I pass cyclists. if the flow of traffic then slows down dramatically (by then I am usually be...

Re: LED Tail Light Bulbs
On the home from work last night I was behind a Polo R line in the rain. It is the first time I have seen the rear LED in the wild and it looks different from the std but in my honest opinion not better or brighter.
So I will not be spending a few hundred £ to swap my standard rear clusters to LED.

Re: LED Tail Light Bulbs
Cheers for that, yes of course I would think there would be an issue changing the headlights over to LED. No such issues with the tail lights though. I may make this change IF an when I finally see an LED version of the tail light in real life. (just have not seen one yet). I just want to see if th...
