Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

My Polo regularly reports problems with the emergency braking system in heavy rain. As regards the moon landings, the very idea that sane people are debating their authenticity is a shocking indictment of our age. Buzz Aldrin punched someone who said it was faked. I don’t blame him. Yep they went, ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Sat Nav maps disappearing is not very handy, I think that it is Garmin that VW Group use and Garmin used to get a bad name for letting you down at critical points in a journey, that was for stand along Sat Nav kits, I think that my decision to buy TomTom as a stand along kit was based on that issue...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

All good Mike. Not sure why your ACC failed you in tbe rain, the radar is supposed to see through rain. The Polo is just as comfy as my Golf R, the Bridgestond tyre roar is bad on mine for those concrete sections of motorway - that's a Bridgestone issue I have also see on various Golfs. Yea the rai...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

My radar threw a wobbly yesterday a couple of times in drizzle conditions. First time its happened and I've driven the car in very heavy rain previously. Shouldn't really make a difference but wonder if its a combination of the darkness plus wet weather? Never happened on my old golf R that had the...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

ok another 4 hour road trip this weekend in the Polo, coming back Sunday will be about 4hrs or so. It will be interesting to see just how uncomfortable the car gets. and can the little 1.0l 115 engine cope. I think some of this will be in the rain so climate controlled aircon on, ill have to do out...

Re: R-line 115

Woody, it only took about 5 days but online chat were telling me start of November because of wltp which I shared with my dealer which they supported. Then literally the next day the dealer emails me to say the car has arrived and she’s sent me the registration documents. Mike I will for sure, I’ll...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Looking forward to your findings Mike. 69mpg is very impressive in ideal conditions. I would be happy with 45-50mpg doing strictly city driving in London using the 95ps DSG. [/quote] Yes mid summer dry and hot, I set off at about 5.30am on a drive of 55 miles, I set the car on eco mode switched off ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Since petrols went direct injection like diesels, they've been belching out the soot, i'm surprised it hasn't been a requirement already. I thought that was an exaggeration but apparently not: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/05/170523144338. Note that other toxins may be even worse. What...

Re: More power Remap or tuning box (250hp)

I don't think I will tune the car I have I do think they can be wound up too much. the 115 is as far as I think its reasonable to push a 1.0 l engine. I know Ford somehow get 125hp out of it and some say up to 135 by I think that's pushing it, I don't know anything about modern engines so I am basin...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

The addition of a GPF filter in the system will be better for your lungs, but potentially worse for running. They are coming, and in some cases already here (the up! GTI with the 116ps 1.0TSI unit already has one. Since petrols went direct injection like diesels, they've been belching out the soot,...
