Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

yea the DSG is not for everyone. what was your bad experience with it? I have found it interesting to get used to especially with the auto stop start...basically auto stop start is a no no with DSG. VW should not sell these two things together. in fact its effin dangerous in some situations. Mine d...

Re: Ambient Lighting and other new Polo queries

For the Seat or the Polo? There are also some pretty competitive pricing offers on the Seat, compared to the VW. The prices on Drive The Deal are more like £16k for the Seat, while for the Polo with the options it's still over £20k. I personally would rather have the VW polo like for like than the ...

Re: New GTI + delivery

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=6K6iT9puoOM Tedious review alert. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk Yep, saw that one the other day John. Shame the reviewer hasn't done their homework on the standard spec before reviewing; they state the non-plus version of the GTI has sat nav and ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Just a reminder all Keyless entry security. You can disable the keyless entry in the new VW polo very easily when you lock the car up. For example If I visit an area I am unsure of I disable the Keyless when I park the car in say London of Coventry, Nottingham etc. is so simple to do. I love my keyl...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Separately, I have never experienced the 115hp 1.0L engine to be underpowered or sluggish pulling away, now that could be because I have a DSG 7 speed gearbox, for the same reason I do not have a problem with high gearing as described by others on here. I just get in and drive, if I need to pull aw...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Ok ive seen some concerns expressed over MPG. Here my trip to work yesterday, as a snap shot for winter. Out side it was 7am and 2.5 degrees, frost on car. I started car put on mirror heaters, wind screen demist, rear window heater and my heated seat. I went in got some warm water and poured on the ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

2G2061270WGK VW Polo Luxury carpet set @ £75.00 inc VAT I got a set for £52.99 including delivery from a dealer on ebay yesterday. Pleased with that. Nice deal, on that, good saving, do they fit securely? no moving around? I saw on here someone who said their carpets especially on the drivers side ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Andy on your MPG. I see your only getting around 35mpg in the 95hp polo that's done just under 750 miles just to offer some help. on here loads of times people have said they get poor MPG until the cat gets over somewhere between 600 and 1000 miles on the clock. this time of year its not going to be...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

One thing that's bugging me in my Polo is the driver's mat moving. There's about half an inch of forward and back movement, which is noticeable when driving. God knows what I can do about it, putting anything 'sticky' under the mat isn't ideal. The securing tabs that screw into the carpet just wobb...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

I think it's more of steering and pedal inputs ... It uses that to determine if your drifting in the lane... Think that's what the book said - have a look. Does anyone know what triggers the drive rest alert? I generally tend to get it after about an hour on the road, sometimes I even get it after ...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Does anyone know what triggers the drive rest alert? I generally tend to get it after about an hour on the road, sometimes I even get it after 1/2 an hour. but I just don't know if its my style of laid back driving or it its just on a timer? cant figure it. does it go on head movement, or arms. If i...

Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!

Tried a few experiments last night, bluetooth is definitely better than apple carplay. Much nicer sound and better stereo seperation. Carplay sounds muddier and almost like it's in mono. So I think I'll forego the other benefits on carplay in favour of the better sound on bluetooth. Had not thought...
