Re: New Polo GTI Mods Discussion
I suppose the obvious question is if you need more power, why not buy a more powerful engined car in the first place?

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
Is there any way to turn the stop /start off all the time. The button on my Gti turns it off but it comes back on again if you change driving mode or turn the engine off. Had a quick look at the menus but could not find an off positionfor it.

Re: Raise the limit( not the Titanic)
Well I like big cars and have stopped worrying about what others think. As my dad used to say, “ If youre gonna have one , have a biggun” .

Re: Raise the limit( not the Titanic)
Not long to go now before I will not care whether cars are about as I will not be here! However at the moment I am lucky to own a 2007 XJ Jagwaaar diesel which is great for gliding graciously around or the Gti Polo for more sporty moments. I have to say the Jag is nearly as fast as the Polo and so m...

Re: Raise the limit( not the Titanic)
My original post was to suggest that 70 mph is now too slow for modern cars . I was not suggesting we should all speed over the limits. I would be happy with a raised limit and having to accept the speed cameras, fixed or mobile . I am now 72 and one third and have never had a speeding conviction or...

Re: Tiredness indicator
Beg to differ as the active cruise on the Polo Gti works very well and is one of my favourite bits on the car. It can be overriden or turned off very quickly and in stop/ start traffic works very well.

Re: Tiredness indicator
Very useful for 95% of the population who do not know how to drive sensibly , open a car door in a supermarket without hitting the next door car or have forgotten what the inside lane on a motorway is for.

Re: Tiredness indicator
Of course that fits in the policy of VW UK. If you are dead you cannot complain about it not working and if you survive you may, or may not get a letter warning that you were about to fall asleep six months later.
Glad you are still with us.

Re: Tiredness indicator
I did not see the second warning I must have been asleep, it was the beep that woke me up.
The car is now officially cleverer than me, though not as clever as the Duke of Edinburgh who does not need seatbelts because he is of much higher status than me and owns the police.

Re: Raise the limit( not the Titanic)
Yes I can as the M6 , M58 ,M65 and M61 in t’ North are barrier free ....so far. This is one of the many problems for those who live “Darn Sarf”. I am no speeder but the “temporary “ 70 mph limit was set in the days of Ford Cortinas to save energy. Surely we have moved on from those days, although I ...

Raise the limit( not the Titanic)
Now that the speeds on motorways are being closely monitored by the “ Managed Motorways” cameras set to a maximum of 72 mph, can we have the speed limit raised to 80 ( 82) mph please?
