Re: New GTI + delivery

After our Gti was built I was told by VW “help” line that our car was on one of two ships( maybe half on each?), so I spent a while following their progress on a ship watcher only to be told later that it was on a completely different one. Also I was told that when it arrived at Emden they would kno...

Re: New GTI + delivery

Gardening is a problem for a 72 year old like me , it is all the bending down, digging and shifting stuff. However I do have several large lawns so I do enjoy mowing, mainly due to having a ride on mower. I can sort out all my thoughts chugging along in the sunshine. Yes I love the word globulation ...

Re: New GTI + delivery

I do enjoy seeing the rain globulate on the cars bodywork after polishing I admit but no matter what polish you use it still leaves marks when the rain dries on the paint.

Re: New GTI + delivery

My VW UP looked the same ( apart from a couple of supermarket trolley small dents) after nearly four years of ownership being kept outside, no detailing , a few polishes and a wash every couple of weeks. If I had spent an arm and a leg( 3.5% of vehicle cost) on detailing I would get really annoyed w...

Re: Main beam adjustment

Got my dealer to raise the beams when I first bought it but they set them too high. Asked them to drop the beams a little and was told , by the same garage that led lamps are not adjustable!! Useless.

Re: Main beam adjustment

Hi Andy , please find attached a plan of where the adjusters are. I have not tried doing it yet but it will presumably alter both dipped and main beam

Re: New GTI + delivery

Re “ Detailing” My dealer polished mine before delivery and after about a week I put some decent polish on the car in August last year( pre WLTP delivery). I also put Rain X on the side glass and did a seat treatment. My ( wife's) car sits outside all the time and apart from an infrequent wash does ...

Re: Jeremy Clarkson and Binky Felstead plus GTI.

It was BL’s Alfa Sud including terminal rust and a tendency to be stationary rather than on the road. At least the Alfa Sud was good to drive for the six months before it rusted away or broke down. Actually though an immaculate rust free All Aggro could be a good classic car investment, there cannot...

Re: Swap GTi plus for an electric VW

The new little Honda EV is causing quite a stir in EV world..... Yes it looks very cute and stylish , but it is still a bit pricy at £30000 . I wonder how the VW iD will compare in range and price. I have seen no leaks of the price yet but it should be available by late this year so the prices shou...

Re: Swap GTi plus for an electric VW

The movie came out in 2105 so they could well used a Nissan Leaf, one of the earliest electric cars available I believe. It's bound to be shown again, the use of an electric car to power the time machine scene is pretty early in the movie.... In the year 2105, that Nissan Leaf must be a classic car...

Re: Swap GTi plus for an electric VW

No ,please dont mention that....oh you did! I did an electrical safety course at work once we used to work with electrical generators in vehicles parked outside houses and we spent hours discussing the merits of using earthing points or not. I think we gave up after three hours! I also remember doin...

Re: Swap GTi plus for an electric VW

The stuff you have is just a heavy duty connection from the fuse/breaker box/ meter connected to a safety breaker and then by an electric cooker sized cable to the charging box. If you imagine electricity as a wave going up and down 50 times a second there are times when it is at zero and times when...
