Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

And there is a way to stop the car being opened keylessly for when it is parked up. This is to prevent thieves using clever tech to steal your car. I have however forgotten how you activate this mode.( I do not really need it where I live) I also note that on later cars the key plipper de activates ...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

I think whether you like one design of wheel over another is a personal thing . I prefer the looks of my Parkers to the 18 inch version but think the name is stupid. Of course there is a factor of thinking they look better because they cost more ,so if you opt for the 17 inch wheels others may think...

Gti Sat Nav problem November

I recently noticed a problem with my VW sat nav. The maps and display were fine but when I selected “ Home “ as a destination it reported an error in not being able to give directions. It seemed ok on some other destinations. I have just been into the VW garage and they contacted VW who said there h...

Re: GTI jerky brakes at low speed

Ah, that sounds familiar to the experience I have had, it is good to know that I am not alone. I will get it booked in to the dealers.

Re: GTI jerky brakes at low speed

Nothing to do with stop start, it just seems over sensitive to pedal pressure at low speed or maybe my feet are too heavy? I have driven automatics before and not experienced this problem. I think I will take it in to the VW garage five minutes away where I bought it and hope they can sort it under ...

Re: GTI jerky brakes at low speed

It is not judder just a sudden brake application after little pedal pressure.
Car is driven mostly gently...I know stupid for a Gti!

GTI jerky brakes at low speed

I have had my GTI plus since August 2018 but recently have noticed the brakes are over sensitive at low speed. I keep annoying the missus by thrusting her head towards the windscreen ( not intentional!!😀) The car has only done around 6000 miles and mostly local. Any ideas what it could be ? I have t...

Re: Polo Gti security

I use a small metal box( Xmas sweets box) on the grounds that the thicker the metal surrounding the keys the less chance there is of thieves picking up a signal. Additional benefit is that it cost nowt! Also if thieves break in would they look in a tin box for the keys?

Re: New GTI + delivery

After our Gti was built I was told by VW “help” line that our car was on one of two ships( maybe half on each?), so I spent a while following their progress on a ship watcher only to be told later that it was on a completely different one. Also I was told that when it arrived at Emden they would kno...

Re: New GTI + delivery

Gardening is a problem for a 72 year old like me , it is all the bending down, digging and shifting stuff. However I do have several large lawns so I do enjoy mowing, mainly due to having a ride on mower. I can sort out all my thoughts chugging along in the sunshine. Yes I love the word globulation ...

Re: New GTI + delivery

I do enjoy seeing the rain globulate on the cars bodywork after polishing I admit but no matter what polish you use it still leaves marks when the rain dries on the paint.

Re: New GTI + delivery

My VW UP looked the same ( apart from a couple of supermarket trolley small dents) after nearly four years of ownership being kept outside, no detailing , a few polishes and a wash every couple of weeks. If I had spent an arm and a leg( 3.5% of vehicle cost) on detailing I would get really annoyed w...
