Re: Race chip for the polo

The ECU flags when certain readings go out of OEM parameters, boost for example. A tuning box will make the car boost beyond the limits of the stock tune. There's a lot of debate on what information is stored, just google TD1 flag. I had a JB4 on my golf R and can recommend that above other tuning b...

Re: Polo Gti security

When you exit the car and press the keyfob to lock it you have about 5 seconds to press your thumb against a notch on the door handle which disables the keyless function. To unlock the car you have to press the keyfob, it will not unlock by just pulling the handle. I've done this every night when I...

Re: Front Assist?

Not had an issue with front assist on mine yet really, it's come on once of its own accord in 8k miles. Sometimes I get the occasional sensor going off in the traffic but its very rare, but the radar situated on the front VW badge area doesn't give me any grief. I'd say yours is defective if its occ...

No issues with mine (touch wood). A happy 7K+ miles so far! It's a great car.

Re: Polo GTi + Driving Modes

Saw an average of 47MPG in my GTI+ the other day on my commute  combination of quiet roads being and able to sit at 70 the whole way to work.

Re: Polo AW1 Coilovers

Not seen any yet, but i'll admit I haven't looked very hard. If I do go down that route i'll get Bilstein B16's again if they're available. Best coilovers i've ever owned.

Re: 2018 Polo New Tyres?

Once the current tyres have worn out on my GTI+, i'll be putting on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. Good wet and dry grip and wear well too. Maybe not the most eco tyre but then it is a GTI after all so deserves something a bit more sport orientated. Michelin Pilot sports were standard fit on my Alpi...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

I don't go near the redline when the engine isn't warmed up. On my Golf R it would go into the shaded red zone before changing gear. The polo seems to change a lot earlier. 9n my manual Golf R, for a lot of miles, the rev limiter used to cut in at 6000 revs when accelerating, now it'll hit 6750 if ...
