Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

My opinion was similar at launch of the AW Polo in 2017 but now that there are 1000's on the road it's "grown" on me over time. As for Golf 8 I also don't have much to say about the "looks" at this time but who knows in 2 - 3 years my opinion may change. Notwithstanding the above the VW Electic ran...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

It just looks really squinty at the front end with those very narrow headlights. The interior has cheapened a little - there's certainly no gap between Polo and Golf any more in terms of interior plushness.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Finally after the 5mile travel restriction has been lifted here, i went for a spin, saw the new Golf 8 :? and got 49 mpg out of the gti+ There was one parked outside my house last night ,- hideous front end. Doesn't look too bad from above, but face on you can see how sloped and pointy the ...

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

I'd definitely have the films removed. If there's damage present at PDI and the dealership misses it, VW absolve themselves of all responsibility and rectification cost is on the dealership (a new 1999 Polo had a pressing defect on the wheel arch with a perfect paint job, undeniable manufacturing de...

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

I do think that the "need" to use pressure washers on cars is oversold. As long as you're cleaning your car regularly so nothing gets baked on and are using microfibre cloths when cleaning so that you're not dragging abrasive crap along the car body surface, you'll be fine. You can have all the pres...

Re: Stop/Start

Does anyone else have trouble with their stop/start not working? I have a GTI+ and 75% of the time I stop the stop/start symbol comes up with a line through it and on the system status screen it says “vehicle must be running” If the engine is cold, or the GPF is quite full, or the battery condition...

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

Stick with the white, it really shows off the shape and creases which are completely lost on black and to a lesser extent the Reef blue. I loved the look of my Lapiz blue Golf R, but Reef blue is too dark for my liking.

Re: PCP Contracts, Discounts and Salesmen [HELP]

I think they're bending over backwards to accommodate you after their system error by giving half price options (that won't break the bank) to save you a 4 or 5 month wait.

I'd snatch their hands off. If you don't like the reef blue then an extra month will be here before you know it.

Re: Just booked my car in for it's first service.........

There's a threshold of +/- 1000 miles or +/- 1 month tolerated by VW generally, that had opened up quite a bit due to COVID-19 and workshops not being open.

Re: Just booked my car in for it's first service.........

Thanks for the reply. This is what I thought but nice to get a second opinion - although you would hope that when the dealer goes to the trouble of selling you the service package they would make sure it was set properly before you took delivery. When I bought my current car, I reminded the dealer ...

Re: Getting better performance from 115ps R-Line

What is the point of buying a 115ps 1.0TSI Polo and moddimg the hell out of it to get stage 2 (maybe 150ps?), ruining your warramty, spending a few thousand £s in the process and being held to ransom by the insurance companies? Just sell up and get a GTI+. It'll be cheaper in the longrun and the res...

Re: Just booked my car in for it's first service.........

If you bought the pack, you need fixed services. Book it in at 12 months. They'll do the service and reset in interval to fixed for the next one.

Re: Cost of first service

I know this £199 service plan has been mentioned before, but how do you go about getting it? There is an option to buy 2 years of servicing on the configurator when you start but its £297. If you didn't buy it with the car (optioned prior to the car being registered), you can no longer get it for £...

Re: Cost of first service

£184 sounds about right. That’s the price VW are showing on their website for a minor service for cars over three years old, but I doubt the cost of a first service will be much - if any - different to that price. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing but it would have been cheaper to have bought the servi...

Re: Cost of first service

Hi all, Car is due for its first service, just coming up to a year old. What sort of price should I expect to pay, ive had a tentative price from a main dealer of £185, does that seem about right? I’ve not paid for the servicing up fron if that helps. Cheers, Simmo Unless they've changed their term...
