Re: Run Flats & Driver Under Seat Storage
I don’t think VW fit run flat tyres to any of their cars; all models of the Polo have normal tyres. There’s no storage drawer under the driver’s seat (my pre-facelift car has a slot under the front passenger seat specifically for the owner’s manual, but no under-seat drawer). There’s no spare wheel...

Re: Genuine Lane Assist Retro Fitted
Does anyone know if you can code out the “hands on steering wheel” alert? I’m still not sold on lane assist I swerve to avoid potholes regular and it don’t like I think you're talking about the full on travel assist. You're supposed to have a capacitative steering wheel so the car knows you have a ...

Re: Where to find a painted mirror cap?
In the OP's position, I would probably be looking to order a set of painted copy wing mirror caps from the likes of Alex pressing in a gloss black or Silver (Silver would look very Golf R)

Re: DSG sticking in 2nd gear
I hear the issue of being stuck in second gear only occurs if you're had absolute radio 90s on and that Friends theme tune by the Rembrandts is playing. The fix is to always leave your radio tuned to planet Rock, although you do run the risk of running a little bit hot if Van Halen's "Panama&qu...

Re: PURCHASE OF VW POLO GTI 2.0 2018 MODEL
OP mentions turbo/injector issues that Golf GTI has? I can imagine that the lack of port injection and deposit build up might play havok with injectors - not a Polo GTI trait. I've had 14 VAG cars from new with turbos, and I've seen 2 failures, both around 5k miles/6 months old. The actuator failed ...

Re: GTI+ Lease ending - Buy or hand back?
Even if you don't want to keep the car, best to get a Motorway.co.uk quote to see what it's worth. If it's worth more than the settlement, buy it and then sell it for a bit of profit. Given the chips shortages right now, used prices are crazy.

Re: Rusted disc brakes
The brake discs should have surface dust only, not penetrative rust, and as a result, that surface dust should be scrubbed off every time you use your brakes. Surface bulges sounds like BS to me.

One thing to try - those fobs are fussy with their batteries - try replacing with Varta batteries.

Re: I'm off guys
Was wondering about EV heaters; what wattage would they be, how would they affect charge and how effective are they? The 'heater' in a petrol or diesel car is basically an additional small radiator with air blown onto or over it then directed around the interior.... It's a big hit. Once warm, those...

Re: I'm off guys
In my current situation an ICE is my only option, sure I'd love a Tesla but that just wouldn't work with where I live. Buying an EV isn't taking the moral high ground nor should it relieve any guilt, but you tell yourself that so you can sleep easy at night. If I were you I wouldn't look into exact...

Re: Facelift Polo Life is a good value addition to VW range
it's not just semiconductors now, it's magnesium as well. It's used in the production of aluminium parts and cannot be stored for any length of time as it oxidises. One city in China is basically responsible for the bulk of the world's production, but over half of the factories have been told to sh...
