Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

Late Edit: Have checked carefully with a voltmeter on my actual 6C. 12v power appears at the cigarette lighter itself only when the ignition key is in and is at the accessories position. With the key removed from the steering column, 12v at the cigarette lighter disappears. So, on a 6C, making use ...

Re: Dash cam hardwire fuse selection

Yes, I just checked - the fuse is always on. On my settings, the camera comes on when I turn the ignition on. But I can switch it on without the ignition on. There is a parking mode on the Nextbase Duo but it triggers when the car is moved, obviously just to pick up a shunt. Maybe your dashcam can s...

Re: My New POLO GT

I’m not to have any issues with the exhaust. I think the remap and throttle box may add a touch but then next year when I come to renew I’ll be looking for modified car insurance as the more you do to them the cheaper it seems to be haha Just heard back from RaceChip: Unfortunately, we still don't ...

Are you expecting any insurance issues? If not, I may well go for it myself.

Re: My New POLO GT

The throttle tuning box from RaceChip is supplied as a brain box which for between the lead and the connector at the top of your pedal, coming from that is the 7 stage controller (XLR) this is one unit and cost £189.00 inc VAT. You can add the app control for £30.00 extra I see that price. So one b...

Re: Dashboard Not Lit When Side Lights On ??

We discussed this in another thread recently. This discussion thread; https://uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=71505 Yes, I started that one. I am contemplating sticking a small LED in front of the light sensor to keep the dial lights on (unless anyone knows a better way?). They switch off far...

Re: My New POLO GT

Ok - but that's the chiptuning boxes - not the Gas pedal Tuning unit No matter how I try to select the accelerator tuning, it comes up with the chip tuning. Also on the UK site: https://www.racechip.co.uk/throttle-tuning/xlr.html and the global site: https://www.racechip.com/throttle-tuning/xlr.htm...

3 options?
I clicked the 'continue in the shop button', put in make, model and engine and got three choices:

Did you fit it yourself? Which one did you go for? I see there are 3 options for the Blue GT.

Re: My New POLO GT

I am also happy with the standard power of my Blue GT. However, what I would like is more instantaneous throttle response. Stepping on the gas, there always seems to be a delay on 'modern' cars of maybe a second or so before the power comes in. I found this delay on the Fabia Mk2, tsi and vrs model...

Re: My New POLO GT

Keep the revs up so the turbo's always spooled... ;) The delay I refer to is while the engine is at the same revs. That is, there is no change of speed for a second or so - neither engine speed nor road speed - and then it kicks in. I know that I could rev the engine and dump the clutch in, but it ...

Re: Dashboard lights

The problem with such automation is that it does not take into account all circumstances like the driver can. For example, when I switch on my headlights as it gets dark, I choose my time according to the traffic. Headlights suddenly switching on could distract other drivers if done at an unsuitable...

Re: Dashboard lights

I don't know why it would dim when turning though. Does it happen for a particular kind of turn, like only for sharp turns, or only for long turns? Or only in certain locations? I will have to check further, but my guess is that light and shade can change more when turning near trees etc and the se...

Re: Dashboard lights

I’m not sure I understand the dimming of the dashboard illumination when turning, but the dashboard illumination is controlled by a light sensor linked to the level of outside light. During dull daylight hours and dusk light conditions, the dashboard illumination will dim down to act as a prompt fo...
