Re: Start/Stop Issues 'vehicle power consumption high'

FWIW, the starter motor may not be involved with stop/start. I know others (Mazda for instance) make one piston stop at TDC. When you're ready to start again that cylinder is ignited, forcing that piston down and turning the engine over. No starter motor involvement at all, very ingenious. No idea ...

Re: Special customers only event

I've recieved such offers in the past: "As your PCP is about to end it's now time to change cars, come on down to a special event and see for yourself the exciting latest VW models." When the PCP was nowhere near about to end, current agreement finishes in 2020....

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

Self park (Park Assist) rules - except IMO it happily slots the car into gaps I fell are otherwise too narrow for car careless door dings.... I have yet to actually use the feature. Still doubting that it works better than me :P You need to be careful if using it when parallel parking. The Park Ass...

Re: Preferred fix for stone chips?

Hate stonechips. As above: cocktail stick + VW paint, a tiny dab at a time, leave 24hours before next. Build up the layers slowly and carefully and you should be able to create a pretty much an unoticable touch up. Nutshell: take your time and good luck....

Re: Polo Gti security

I use a small metal box( Xmas sweets box) on the grounds that the thicker the metal surrounding the keys the less chance there is of thieves picking up a signal. Additional benefit is that it cost nowt! Also if thieves break in would they look in a tin box for the keys? Plus you enjoyed the sweetie...

Re: First longish journey for holiday and then valeting

Bwing a bit of a tighty I use cheapo car wash & shampoo as I've found there isn't much difference than better quality, branded products and the the locknut cap always goes 'a bit white' after a short while. Seems you just need to give it a wipe every now and again regardless, think it's prob due to ...

Well, if you had a base model Polo then it would have been the same engine as the Up but in a larger, heavier, car!
Not that, I've had small loaners before (Seat Ibiza, Ford Fiesta, VX Corsa, earlier model Polo, etc) the Polo engine was well flat for some reason....
