Shame, know how the OP feels, you can only take so much grief til patience runs out. A Mazda is prob a good buy (pun not intended), good luck either way....

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences

So, not had a great start to ownership of my GTi. I bought a stock vehicle that had a good spec. Ownership lasted 2hrs and 40 minutes before I was on the phone to the dealer with a snag list. Paint defects, interior trim damage, tailgate not shutting, tyre not fitted correctly, steering alignment o...

Re: Winscreen wiper failure mystery query

It can happen, a mate's car (a Vauxhall 4x4, SUV I forget which exactly), would randomly misfire. He did a full service inc plugs, air filter, etc but it still misfired from time to time, once it went into 'superslow limp mode' and was undrivable, had to call out recovery. Long story short: after al...

Re: 2019 lead times

As a matter of slightly sideways interest, I was passing anyway so stopped at my local VW dealer to enquire of the Golf Mk8 after viewing videos & pics online, to poss order a car in advance of my PCP ending early next year. I was told "demonstrators available in December, new cars delivered approx ...

Re: Mk10 polo cuts out completely at high speed

Adding my 2p's worth; once had a new Astra in which all electrical items, including the lights, would randomly switch off whenever they felt like it, which was often. The parking brake had a mind of its own, the radio would suddenly jump to full volume and an electric rear window would open itself w...

Re: Washer Fluid Filter Cap - Dropped

Stating the obvious, you won't know til you fish it out, plastic can take hard hits but can smash at the lightest touch. Try a length of straightened coat hanger or if there is a Home Bargains store nearby you can buy long-ish grabber devices for £1.25 I believe. It happens though. I once decided it...

Re: Rights when you've bought a brand new car.

Speaking as I find, having driven manaul 'boxes' all my life my experience of an auto / DSG box is limted; 3 or 4 miles in my uncles prev model Polo. Once you got used to the clutchless take offs the change ups were silky smooth though I moticed that, IMO, the car held lower gears a tad longer than ...

Re: Polo to t-cross?

Interestingly my uncle (prev model Polo 1.2DSG Match petrol) is also looking at a similar vehicle, though for prob different reasons. While not disabled as such he is 80 (I think) though still has all his marbles but has movement probs and so getting into / out of his car, and also my Golf, is getti...

Re: Start/Stop Issues 'vehicle power consumption high'

FWIW, the starter motor may not be involved with stop/start. I know others (Mazda for instance) make one piston stop at TDC. When you're ready to start again that cylinder is ignited, forcing that piston down and turning the engine over. No starter motor involvement at all, very ingenious. No idea ...
