Re: 22 Polo Life 1.0 80PS 5 Sp Drive
Well I come from an area of the country where folk 'speak as they find', while I'm not originally from these parts I go along with such attiude. Forgot to add: dash display pics, looks a bit different (?) though I didn't bother to play around with it. Another issue was the fuel miles to go' stuck on...

22 Polo Life 1.0 80PS 5 Sp Drive
(Sorry text editor issues, pics all over the place). So I dropped my 2021 Mk8 Golf into the dealers for attention to sticking AutoHold (fixed) and was loaned a 2022 Polo. Won't post pages as you will all know about the car but I'll give my impressions / comparison for interest. Overall I liked it, I...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
I have relatives in v similar situations to the above two posts. One told me that "quite a few VWs are shown as being unavailable to order", whatever that means. He's considering other brands, seems Ford have plenty of cars in stock....

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Spare wheel and toolkit is £100, not 120 ish, just checked it again. Copied from the configurator Space and weight saving spare wheel including tool kit Price £100 Price £100, Did say £120ish, it is £100 wasn't sure but don't need to argue or say it twice, still prefarable to bottle of gloop....

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Last I checked the price was nearer £120sh but I wouldn't argue, and should have made clear that obtaining the stuff from 'well-known online selling sites that would have saved literally a few pounds' was sourcing each item from a different source, so obviously increasing the chance of it being wron...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Can't dealer just order the spare wheel & jack kit for you ? Incedentally; I tried to save some cash in buying the 'kit' (spare wheel + tyre, jack, wheel brace, nut cover / wheel trim puller, screwdriver) from well-known online selling sites and would have saved literally a few pounds, £20 or le...

Re: Just how reliable is the Polo? Likelihood of problems?
I'd say no less or more less reliable than any other car. When car change time came around due to PCP ending and considering the Polo I spoke to couple of VW mechanics and both basically said "the handbrake lever can rattle and the handbrake itself sometimes sticks, otherwise it's good". W...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Jumping in late re: poss paint issues, a couple of car paint specialists told me: Best colours to 'hide' scratches; silver & white. Best to 'hide' dents; black & dark blue (& easiest to colour match). All time worst to colour match; silver. Hopefully none of us will need such info, nice ...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?
Absolutely. When I bought my GTi + we discussed the facelift and he said optimistically that 18 months for the facelift would be likely in the circumstances. Long way from SA at the best of times. Unbelievable if they increase price on it again in December. How high can they go as the price is gett...

Re: I'm off guys
Guys, let’s not get into daft arguments. This is one of the few forums I bother with as everyone is generally really friendly, don’t turn it into one of the golf forums. There’s positives and negatives to electric cars. It’s just certain people won’t admit there are negatives to them and there are ...

Re: I'm off guys
Was it because it was in stock and orders take forever at the moment? That’s how I ended up in a Tiguan when I went for a golf! Was but one reason + ridiculous lead time for my preferred model; 1.0 SEL, I like 6sp 'boxes, with Park Assist; 8-12 months for a new build, no SELs with PP in stock, yet ...

Re: I'm off guys
Was wondering about EV heaters; what wattage would they be, how would they affect charge and how effective are they? The 'heater' in a petrol or diesel car is basically an additional small radiator with air blown onto or over it then directed around the interior.... It's a big hit. Once warm, those...

Re: I'm off guys
At the risk of stirring the pot a little, I have a mate living in Glasgow who told me Tesla loaned EVs FOC to COP26 delegates to help demonstrate clean their running with zero polution, which is true of course. Only, there's is but one charge point at the hotel, so 12 or so diesel generators were br...
