Sorry, I’ve been away. Options were just the convenience pack — so auto lights, wipers, folding mirrors.

You do have to say you’re withdrawing — but they ask you about six times to confirm that that’s really what you want to do!

Some photos of my Polo, picked up today after a seven month wait. It’s great — a lot quieter than the previous one. I immediately did a 125 mile journey on motorways and dual carriageways, and got 53.7 mpg which I thought was excellent.

Now due to get mine on Friday morning. That'll be seven months and two days since I ordered it.

So having arrived in the UK on 6 May, it still hasn’t made it to the dealer. It’s in Sheerness, and only has to get to West Sussex. The dealer was promised it on Monday, but it didn’t materialise. I do wonder what VW are doing — are they just trying to annoy their customers?

Freedom Ace (car transporter) has been in Zeebrugge harbour for a couple of days( unloading or loading cars? ) and is due to sail at 1630 on the 13 th to Emden on Germany . The harbour there has another car transporter called Goodwood parked up next to Volkswagen Strasse ( VW Street). No indication...

Mine was built in the week of 26 March, went on the boat the next week (so around 2 April, although that was Easter Monday), and arrived in Germany on 1 May. So having arrived at Sheerness last Saturday, my Polo is now at ... Sheerness. My dealer phoned VW to find out why it had come to a halt and got them to speak to the transport company, and he’s assured they’ll deliver it to the dealership on Monday. Because of work, I should get it next Friday.

Saw the salesman and got an order number. He said the build date was now confirmed as 28 th May. Got home and went through the slightly turgid process of getting the VW app. The suggested build date on the VW main site was given as 4 th June, but we will see if the emailing system lets me know when...

It’s an SE 1.0 TSI 95. All the option packs seem to have changed since I ordered it, but it should have front fog lights, auto folding mirrors, auto lights, and auto wipers.
