Right, we've all got our frustrations out and we all disagree. For the sake of calm and stability lets move on from this. How has your car been Silverhairs? Hi "TELwoody" My Polo's running fine, though coming home the other week, my dash lights decided to go out, only the needle light was working, ...

Re: Knocking noise at 1000 RPM in neutral

With all due respect, I know quite a few people have mentioned this, but is there really a need for the aggressive response. we are here to answer questions if we can and suggest the appropriate place to go if we do not know the answer. being rude does not achieve anything. Can you please tell me w...

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC

I have spoken to my mate down the road who has a Polo GTI+ and he's got ACC, he also had thoughts about that, so in the next week or so, we will follow each other down the road with the front car in ACC and when he comes up to a slower car and can feel the brakes come on, to signal to the car behind...

Re: 2019 lead times

Car ordered on 12 August. Factory build in blue with a couple of extras. Just received order number so I can track progress on App. Dealer amended an existing pipeline order so unconfirmed build week is 43 - 21 October. Maybe it’ll arrive for Xmas. I was bracing myself for 2020. I think "bracing" y...

Re: Is there a perminent Stop start fix yet?

Some people are asking how to disable their stop/start for good. The problem there is, in the UK so many councils are really out to prosecute drivers, especially the ones on school runs who sit and wait for their kids while the engine is running. OK you can say "turn the engine off", but in the wint...

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC

When driving along in ACC and you start coming up to another car, you can hear the brakes coming on (more of a slight hiss as the pads start rubbing, not like first thing in the morning, when the pads clean off the over night corrosion build-up. Question. when this happens, (the brakes come on) whil...

Hi,

This could also more then likely be the powersteering pump.
Due to being at full lock the pump can Labour hard as you are steering into the steering stops.
This can cause the pump to labour and somewhat whine.

Just a possibility!
I thought the power steering was electric?

Re: Upgrading standard cruise to ACC

I have the ACC on my SEL DSG. When following another car (you can set the distance you feel safe at) EG: two chevron distance at 70 MPH on a motorway, but when in slower traffic the distance automatically closes up. If the car in front has to brake hard in an emergency, so does your ACC, even down ...

Re: Anyone have Park Assist and vcds?

If your reversing into a space and the car behind has it's wheels on the kerb, your park assist will want to park in the same position, so it will start trying to climb the kerb, not a good idea for alloys :( .
