Just realised that the filler cap is also locked and wont open so I am guessing that when unlocking the passenger door the central locking is not deactivating?

Hi I have just bought a 2006 Polo 1.2e.
Key will only go half way into the drivers door so went to lock the car from the passengers door which it did. Unfortunately now when unlocking from the passenger door the drivers door will not unlock and appears to be deadlocked so cant even open from inside ...
