Re: GTI+ Stolen, Recovered, Manhandled by Insurer's Garage - Need a VW Garage

Hi, I’m lost for printable words about the shocking behaviour of the repairer selected by the insurer. The link below may help you. http://volkswagenapprovedrepair.co.uk/ Also I have great faith in Portslade Panels who I’ve used to repair a few of my cars even though they are some miles from me, col...

Re: Parking sensors

Hi,

Park Assist has the extra sensors, so four is correct without this option.

Re: Multi function screen having a breakdown

Hi, Car went to the dealers on Thursday and the technician discovered some damaged wiring that links the dash to various parts of the car that was causing the fault. I’m not totally convinced, but as it’s usually takes two weeks after they’ve cleared the faults out of the system before the error mes...

Re: Multi function screen having a breakdown

Update after VW Assist arrived Car plugged in to the laptop diagnostic and as before listed numerous faults all at the same time. One oddity was the drop in voltage show as 9v when it should register at least 12v. So the battery was checked and that was fine and eliminated. Further checks came up wi...

Re: Multi function screen having a breakdown

Thanks for the information as that’s very helpful.

I’ve got VW Assist coming at 16:00 - 18:00, so I’ll see what they have to say.

Multi function screen having a breakdown

Hi, We’ve had yet another weird occurrence with the multi function display (the small screen between the Speedo and rev counter). After the car went in for its first service a few weeks later on starting the car the screen scrolled through numerous messages; Error: brake, Please visit workshop, Erro...

Re: Stealer trying to increase interest rate

Hi,

Great result.

I’m sure a few dealers will try this with price or rate increases as unfortunately a lot of customers get hoodwinked by the smooth talking sales person and agree to these changes.

Re: Carbon Fibre Door Mirrors and Other After Market Parts

Hi

A local company near me specialises in wrap, so maybe someone in your area offers a similar service.

Re: Paint chips

Hi, Definitely a call to VW customer service to get the issue logged. VW will tell you the dealer should resolve the door alignment but tell them they’ve had one go and it’s still not good, also they charged you for a paint stick to repair the damage they caused and told stories about paint protecti...

Re: Paint chips

Hi, The dealer should have fixed any damage to the paint and not sold you a paint stick, and why on earth did the door need re-aligning as that should have been picked up before the car was sold! Personally I would question your dealer a little more as they seem to be fobbing you off and telling you...

Re: Paint chips

Hi, The paint protection you paid for isn’t going to stop chips in the paint work so either there’s either an issue with the paint that was applied at the factory or you’ve picked up numerous stone chips. Unfortunately paint protection at a dealer is usually applied by a five year old and you pay a ...

Typical response from Top Gear bunch of so called motoring experts. Can’t wait to see the new presenters, and thank goodness Matt Leblanc is leaving. He gets the Wooden actor of the decade award.

Re: Buying New Polo: Deals To Expect?

Hi, Absolutely correct monkeyhanger. All my car recent purchases I have used finance to get the contribution and then ‘withdrawn’ from the agreement 14 days after I signed it, but usually I call them a few days before just to be sure. I’ve never had any letters asking for the contribution back. As o...

Re: Buying New Polo: Deals To Expect?

Hi,

Good news.

Remember not to get sucked in with gap, paint protection and tyre and wheel insurance from the dealer as the price will be way more than buying from companies like ala.co.uk. Example, gap from VW circa. £500, but from ALA, with a discount code, under £100!

Enjoy the car.
