Re: 25% off VW service plans
"Freeze the price of your service plan" sounds ominous, probably going to be a massive increase soon!

Re: Things you just found out about your Polo (AW BZ)
"Manoeuvre braking" - is that the "feature" that can make a DSG equipped car feel that glued to the spot when trying to move slowly? I'm not a DSG driver, but now I've moved my daughter's Leon Cupra around my garage, I'm not impressed with DSG when driving up and down from ramps...

Flywheel replacement
A few weeks ago my car (2018 GTi+) started making a loud vibrating sound when moving off forward and reverse, once above 1500rpm it was quiet as a new car, same when the car is cold, this noise only happened when it's fully warmed up. They say it's the flywheel and is in next week for replacement. V...

Re: Oug8 update showing in car, could not download
Hello, is there somewhere that we with the pre-facelift models can check our software version and is up to date and if not, download and install it through the SD Card slot? Or do we just rely on the dealers to do this at service times please? My car’s a pre-facelift GTI+. Dealers supposedly used t...

Re: Oug8 update showing in car, could not download
please excuse the questions (and offering no help either) is this software updating for the car (ECU?), entertainment module or what.. not even heard a little of this previously.. I don't get any messages; too low in the model range perhaps? Your car is a pre-facelift Polo (AW model) and OTA (over ...

Re: Wireless android car adapter
I set up my AA Wireless that arrived yesterday and used it for a half hour drive today, phone got hot and battery drain was significantly more than in my T-Cross that is built in wireless AA. I'll persevere with it and see if it settles down or if I can disable something (thinking WiFi might have be...

Re: Wireless android car adapter
in my optimism... I have sent for a cheap version (Android wired to wireless) off Aliexpress.. I'll post some feedback.. good or bad later on.. probably take another 6-7 days before it gets here. Well I got it and after a short while got it set up.. now it works without wires.. interestingly the st...

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment
All sorted today, car collected, taken away to what I am told was a specialist this time for alignment and returned free of charge. No idea why they attempted this themselves first time when they usually take it to the specialist, as I guessed previously, probably because it was last job on a Friday...

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment
Dealer called today and they're collecting the car to correct it on Friday, hopefully no fuss, thank you all for your help and advice.

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment
It’s worth noting that this place had the word ‘tyres’ in the name of the garage too. I'm guessing they're a 'national' company too from that! I've just called the dealer and they're going to get the service person who dealt with it to call me on Monday to discuss this situation, I'll see what they...

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment
They probably didn't do a 4 wheel alignment check, or didn't do it properly after installing the new track rod end. I looked on my dashcam and it was in for alignment for best part of an hour (they'd done the TRE the previous day), I'll ask if they did 4 wheel alignment though, I just assumed they ...

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment
I would certainly complain - IMHO that’s some way off-centre and far from being in the perfect position. I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t possible to rectify it, otherwise there’d be lots of posts similar to yours on this and other forums. I had something similar back on a car in the early 1990’s...

Steering wheel not straight after alignment
Hello, I wondered if you could advise on whether I can complain about my steering wheel not being in the perfect position when the wheels are straight after alignment work? Quick explanation, car failed MOT on a track rod end gaiter split, been replaced and had alignment done but when driving in a s...
