The end of the road....
My 2018 1.0 tsi leaves me on Friday... 3 years of flawless motoring, never missed a beat, had nothing done to it other than routine servicing. 36,000 miles on the tyres, clutch and brakes... all as good as the day I drove it out of the dealer... I've had as much as 60mpg over a tank of fuel, includi...

Re: Just how reliable is the Polo? Likelihood of problems?
I have a 2018 1.0l TS manual model, bought with 1200 miles on it, and it's been flawless. 30,000 plus miles and it's needed nothing other than routine servicing. Comfortable on a 4 hour drive, handles well, keeps up with traffic and regularly returns over 50 mpg on a tank meaning fill ups every 400 ...

Re: Android Auto Vs Tech Edition infotainment
Following up on the Maps theme, Google Maps are getting very good at spotting speed cameras, even temporary ones and warning you that they lay ahead. Speed limit for the roads you are on is didplayed as well. I also like the ability to use Spotify on Android Auto, using saved playlists and albums if...

Re: Mk10 Fuse Box Layout
Thanks Norman and everyone else...
I've just replaced that fuse on mine as it failed during last weeks freeze!
Now working fine and a couple of spares in the glovebox...
Very disappointed in the handbook fuse descriptions...
Peter.

Re: Idle Revs
My 95ps idles at 850 to 900rpm, but I've noticed if I'm sat and the clutch pedal is a fraction off the floor it will idle between 950 and 1000rpm. I've thought it may be something to do with the 'hill holder' function as the revs drop off to normal idle instantly if the pedal is pushed down the last...

Re: 10k oil change
My local dealer sent an email yesterday offering a Lockdown Health Check to 'make sure your car is in peak condition after Lockdown lack of use'. For the sum of £49.99 they will give an air care service, fuel care service, a visual 30 point health check and a battery test. The air care bit i...

Re: Question about Electric Door Mirrors
I had the same thought as whizzywig, thinking they didn't fold on the SE, until I stayed at my daughter's house in Leeds, which is narrow with parking down one side. The son in law came in from walking the dog and announced he'd folded the mirror in on the car... turned out you just have to be extre...

Re: What is the situation with VW main dealers?
With respect to the annoying 'service required' message. It has no effect on the operation of the car and changes to a simple 'service required' message in the drivers display when you start up and shut off the car. I ran with it for a couple of months at the beginning of the year as I want an annua...

Re: Apple CarPlay issues on GTI+
With respect to the disconnect over bumps, I've found that the usb connection in the cubby doesn't always grip and can allow left/right movement should the phone move causing the connection to be lost. I have a small piece of foam to stop the phone movement which seems to do the trick.

Hi, I think the previous version of the app was a pain to input data manually. Whenever you wanted to put data in manually, it had to be added in a specific order. If the order wasn't followed, and sadly it wasn't a matter of just going next before inputting, the in built calculator would auto-corre...

With reference to the auto lights, my SE shows orange on the switch if set to auto and this switches to green when they are actually on. There appears to be no dash indication, just the switch.

New record for nerve! Pulled onto the forecourt this morning indicating 15 miles range...
However, managed to get it to take 41 litres when it reckons to have a 40 litre tank (approx) to the pump click.
458 miles covered since previous fill at an average of 52mpg

I have a similar problem with a Samsung S7. Polo 1.0 SE Generally, plug it in, wait for it to faff about binging and bonging until the Android Auto screen appears. After that it becomes quite random as to what will work and so on. Yesterday, google maps took me off on a country route to avoid conges...

Re: Servicing costs
I bought the 3 year plus MOT package this year when it was due its oil service. As I'll make a descision at the first MOT whether to stick or twist, it'll be worth having dealer history to that point. After that, I'll see if I can find a decent specialist in the area and they can do all the work fro...
