Re: Honest opinion - anyone else regret buying their GTI?
Not regretting mine and approaching 18 months of ownership. Been out and about on work missions over the last couple of days racking up some mainly motorway and A road miles where it has been perfectly fine. ACC is very handy in these cases. No issue with build quality as far as I am concerned. In ...

I like that they're a bit more understated.
They're less fussy looking and I prefer that.

Just did usual 70 mile round trip.
Noted consumption on return leg while keeping to speed limit.
50 for a long portion, 70 the rest, got 54mpg.

Re: Is it feasible to use a Polo GTI+ on a 70 mile daily commute?
When required to be in the office I'm on a 70 mile roumd trip, which will be 3 times this week. Currently most of the motorway miles I do are limited to 50, damn smart motorway works, so when I get past that, I tend to up it to 80. Today I got an average consumption of 40mpg. My start and end points...

Re: Keyless entry boot glitch
Tried to get into mine the other day and as I put my hand behind the handle, some message flashed up on the dash display. Didn't catch it properly to read it.
Had to unlock with key fob.
Only happened the once.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
"possibly the steel wheel clamped down around it acts as a protective cage in the event of a bad rear shunt". It remains under a large clamp bracket. This is what the spindle detaches from. I'm just pointing out that the extra boot space does exist. I'm keeping my spare on board anyway but...

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
There is that.
I was curious about whether the rear mounted battery would really be a reason why you couldn't lower the boot floor.
Turns out that it isn't.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
"GTI / GTI+; 305 litres; boot floor in the upper position. As monkeyhanger has said, the location of the battery prevents the boot floor being lowered in the GTI and GTI+" Not actually true. I took a look the other day. I removed my spare wheel. The spindle that locates the spare wheel is ...

Re: Ride quality & Road roar?
Most of my miles in my gti have been motorway miles and I find it perfectly fine. I also don't have a problem with the ride around town etc. I'm on the 17's. I switch between sports and normal suspension modes from time to time depending on mood. It is noticeably more bobbly in sports mode, understa...

Can't be many areas where you'd get 3 GTis within a 1 mile radius.
Have you seen many of them about?

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?
Pulled out of my street yesterday and crossed paths with an identical red gti+, proceeded to head towards the nearest motorway not very far away and found myself next to a black gti+ at the roundabout to the motorway.
