Re: Part number help needed
Well that is certainly a bit of a problem. The 04E121600CB you got looks like it is for DFNA engine. Found multiple numbers for the part you are looking for. The 05E121111AB does look like most probably right but I can't say that for sure. The part number on the black box will only lead you to the c...

Re: Disable START/STOP system permanently
free way: disconnect connector on one of the battery side (I did that 4 year ago to my GTI and all is fine, except I get one warning everytime I start the car which dissappear few second later) without software modification: there used to be module that goes between the button and cabel harnes. Whic...

Re: Finally sorted the AA Wireless cable issue
Nice! Like it, lovely and neat. Just a reminder, music played via a wireless connection is severely compressed and significantly comprimises the sound quality. ‘Lossless’ quality audio will only work via a wired connection. Isn't AA wireless works over wifi with plenty of bandwidth? and honestly ev...

Re: Fuel consumption
Yes, the GTI is surprisingly economical. The current long term average in my GTI+ is 44 mpg and I have seen 50 - 55 mpg on some journeys. That’s similar to some of the diesel Golfs I’ve owned in the past. My mpg is no doubt influenced by very little in-town or in-city driving these days, and pretty...

Re: GPF delete GTI 2023
GPF delete comes with ECU modification. VW could use it as excuse to void your warranty (at least) for engine.

Re: Wireless android car adapter
yeah I think it is problem with wifi interferance. I have a feeling it might be problem with early devices like minegrazuncle2 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 8:52 pm Some strong signal going on.. Interfering.
Strange it works elsewhere otherwise?

Re: Wireless android car adapter
I have AA wireless (the early version with different chip inside) and it works well. For some reason I am getting disconnected at place where my father lives and I never found out why but it might be problem with early units.

Re: Rainwater in fuel filler compartment
Yes mk6 does have hole in this compartment and by my experience it gets blocked way too often. I have trimmer string (used for cutting grass, made from plastic, about 0,75mm thick) in car and once in while I poke through until I see it belove car

Re: How to run in new car?
This one was a bit heated discussion last time here. So will limit myself only to this:
I agree SRGTD and you should do as manufacturer say so. If you plan to keep your car as long as it will last.
If you keep it only for next 5 years then I suppose it doesn't matter that much.

Re: arm rest issue ?
BTW there is also invisible solution. I don't think anyone else make those so you would need to make them on your own (3d printed should work too). There is no need to take arm rest from vehicle but the back panel have to go out to glue clips onto the metal bar.

Maybe it could fit but there is foam with tools which would need to be removed ... Haven't tested it as I think it is not really worth it.

Re: brake fluid change after two years???
As said brake fluid does absorb water. That said it can be measured how much resistance it have. I personally measured it about 6 months ago. It was ok, not like new but still ok, so I decided to change it in spring 2023.

Re: Mk6 face lift key cover
I was meaning to come on and ask about the keys as I thought they had changed. I had a Golf at start of year and rembembered the key came out at a sideways angle. Thanks @ dark_cze for explaining the differences. So I bought the VW "GTI" silicon case as well as a another non branded sleev...
