Polo GTI security systems (THUMPS UP)

This morning on my way to work the car in front of me suddenly wanted to take a left turn without using his turn signal. I must say that i was rather impressed with the emergency brakes. If the feature wasn't there I would had ended up in the back of a volvo. Another thing that I've got is the blind...

Re: Debating on 18" vs 17" & Sport Select

I haven't compared 18'' with 17''. Mine runs on 18'' and those brescia alloys are fantastic to look at. The normal suspensions is fairly comfortable but still with a sporty feel to it, while the sport suspension is really stiff. I think it would be a shame to pass on the sport-sellect package due to...

All of it, front and rear.
Unfortunately, not possible.
I've never had the anti-collision activated at any point, and I haven't disabled it. :?:

Re: Breaking-in New engine

I've leased my GTI for two years and I roughly do 10-30 kms a day.
I'll just enjoy my car and don't think too much about breaking in.
I've heard rumours that most VWs has a magical switch at 700 miles / 1000 kms that should give you some extra power though, Is that true?

Re: Exhaust mods Polo GTI

Hi Peter.

Did you see a video with the stock exhaust with and without GPF?
I'm interrested to hear how bad the GPF actually is.

Re: My thoughts on the DSG and the driver profiles

^ Yes you can. I never stay in "S" mode for gear changes, "D" reacts every bit as quick with your foot down and will rev the full range to upchange if you've put your foot down. Just pull gear lever back towards you (it's sprung, so will return to same resting position). I belie...

Re: My thoughts on the DSG and the driver profiles

To get the throttle response of Sport, without the "S" gear change thresholds which hold high revs, I put my GTI+ into Sport mode and then pull back on the gear lever against the spring, which puts the gear change thresholds back to normal, denoting "D" e.g. D1, D2, D3 etc. inst...

Re: My thoughts on the DSG and the driver profiles

Not sure about current DSG, but I'm sure this is how sport mode worked in my 2005 Audi A3. Sport mode would hold the car in a gear at higher revs, other modes would change up a gear. It makes sense as you've told it you want to be sporty and dragging along at low revs/high gear isn't sporty..... :?...

Perhaps there is. Not too sure. Hopefully one of the owner of the GTI can share their experiences.
As it is for now I'm forced to stay in Normal mode, otherwise fuel will disapear like a Gin and Tonic in Ibiza

My thoughts on the DSG and the driver profiles

Hi there. I just wanted to share my experiences with the DSG gear box and driving profiles. I really like this gearbox. It is fast and with little to no "lag". It does have a few issues though: When you start the car up it seems random which driving profile it chooses. Sometimes it starts ...

Re: New GTI + delivery

Hi all, Curious - alot of car review videos show the GTi to have quite a burbly exhaust sound with some pops and bangs - does anyone know how this now compares with the GTi's now fitted with the GPF? Yes, I took a video of my stock car, much quieter... you can hear some pops but very quiet, all bec...
