Just thought I'd post a guide on how to hardwire your dashcam into your Polo. I'm not a professional in anyway I just followed a few YouTube videos. It has worked very well for me and since the install I have had no issues :D

Here's what you need.
12V to 5V USB converter
"Add a fuse" or "Piggy ...

For wiring to the rear, along the top wind screen, along the left pillar, along the floor (some wiring will be exposed) but very minimal, then under the seats on my 6r.

It is very easy to do. I got a NextBase Duo and the fuse jumper extension lead. I connected it the the cigarette lighter (Polo Blue GT 2017)NextbaseDuoInstallation.jpg
The box of tricks pushes back out out of the way.


Is that fuse always on? Or only comes on when ignition is on? Becausew I have ...

I have a 2012 Polo 6R and i have routed the cables for the front and rear dashcam. But I'm not sure which fuse to use for an an always on power supply. The dashboard camera has a parking mode, hence why I'd like to have this feature.
