Re: ID.2all concept
I have been very impressed by the launch of this (hopefully) affordable EV. The industry is in dire need of a dose of realism as regards prices for cars of this size. I have a Polo already so would be more interested in the proposed ID.1 (<£20000) to replace my Seat Mii electric (32 months old) in m...

Re: What happens at 10mph?
Could it be the central locking ‘auto lock’ kicking in? That roughly the speed it happens at.

Re: Alarm goes off in high winds / rain
Just a point of info on this: if you do a quick double press of the lock button on your remote it disables the internal monitoring of the car. This is really useful on ferry trips to save the alarm going off as the ship bobs about. Sorry, lots of you will know that but in case you don’t it is helpfu...

Re: Spare wheel
A full size spare only fits for 15” wheels. If you go to the configurator it only allows you to add a space saver for 16” or 17” wheels. I have a Polo Life with the standard alloys and I ordered a full size spare. It is a bit neat in the space so I doubt a full size 16 or 17 inch wheel would fit.

Re: Fuel economy
Hopefully the fuel economy improves as you put on more miles. I must admit I mainly use the Polo for longer journeys like holiday trips/shopping further afield. I have a wee electric car - Seat Mii electric - for more local trips. So my good mpg figures are partly down to that I’m sure. As for the t...

Re: Fuel economy
Hi Tom I have exactly the model you asked about so can give you a realistic idea of the fuel economy. I have kept careful records of fill-ups and the overall economy over 3900 miles is 53.6 mpg. The best tankful mileage (out of 10 fill ups) was 58 mpg and the worst 49.6 mpg. I can usually get 400 mi...

Software Update - any issues?
My Polo is now 6 months old and for the last few weeks I have been getting the ‘Software Update available’. The car is running so well and I am very happy with it at the moment, so I am reluctant to mess with the current settings. Has anyone with a facelift Polo done this update? Has it been okay? W...

Re: Polo 1.0tsi DSG Performance
Hi again Tom I find the gear changes fine. As I said, switching off the stop/start feature helps take-off at roundabouts and junctions. Nudging the DSG gear leave back into Sport mode gets it going a bit better as it holds the gears a bit longer. I’m not a fan of the paddles beside the steering whee...

Re: Polo 1.0tsi DSG Performance
Hi Tom I have had a Polo Life with the DSG for 6 months now and I find it really good. The 95 PS engine is more than adequate and the DSG works well with this engine - I don’t find it sluggish - I do generally switch off the stop/start and that helps at junctions and roundabouts. I have been very pl...

Re: 22 Polo Life 1.0 80PS 5 Sp Drive
Great review Steve. Demo cars are often the cheapest models - hence the base engine I suppose. But you are right - it is underpowered. I have the Life model 95PS/DSG version and can confirm it is powerful enough. 4DE9A150-AC03-4AA4-A0C6-A2DEAA42E7FD.jpeg I have added a screenshot showing the fuel co...

Re: Facelift Polo Life is a good value addition to VW range
Comments on the first 500 miles with a Polo Life DSG (95PS) Travel assist works well with the DSG/Adaptive Cruise and easy to set up/adjust from steering wheel. It is very relaxing on a long journey – it simply follows the car in front, even in town driving, stopping and starting as required. Fuel ...

Re: Facelift Polo Life is a good value addition to VW range
Dealer contacted me this morning to say our new Polo has arrived at the dealership - pic attached. Picking the car up on Monday which will be exactly 24 weeks from ordering.

Re: Facelift Polo Life is a good value addition to VW range
Just a quick update on my Polo’s journey. Dealer has told me the car arrived in the UK (Port of Tyne) yesterday (Friday 15th). This is 6 weeks after it left the factory which is, I understand, a normal travel time overseas from South Africa. So all good!

Re: Facelift Polo Life is a good value addition to VW range
Thought I’d post an update on my Polo Life DSG factory order made on 7th November last year. I got an update from the dealer today saying the car is ‘status 30’ - in transit from factory. So the build date I was given of end of February was accurate. If, as expected, it arrives in the middle of Apri...
