Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

For 300bhp I think you'll need a new intercooler at the least and possible some new plugs. I think some people have gone for new turbos too to future proof the car, usually a Golf R turbo (IS38). If you're running 300ps you'll need the timing set up for RON98/99 as you will get pinking if you run R...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

From what I've seen on various groups a Stage 1 can produce anywhere from 240-260bhp. You'll need a Stage 2 for 300bhp+ and a few modifications.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

That looks really good mate! First time I've seen someone spray them, it definitely works. :) I've noticed with Diversion they get the majority of their stock from AliExpress and just sell it for double the price so it's always worth checking. Obviously quicker delivery as they're UK based but can d...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Haven't really done anything with the car, but today had some Headlights Eyebrow tints arrive. Planning to get that little white section above the front grill wrapped when things ease up a bit with COVID. As with most of the UK the weather is awful at the moment otherwise I'd get out there and wash...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

It’s a really strange one. Like you said how did that get past development/testing? The cynic in me wants to say it’s a cost cutting move considering they already removed the physical buttons. The exterior of the MK8 Golf GTI has grown on me slightly . The club sport edition looks a lot better, howe...

Re: Polo AW Facelift Spy shots

Found this interesting regarding the touch controls in the Golf GTI. From AutoTrader on YouTube - https://youtu.be/VIWCAsM4Drc?t=154 This morning I was driving to location and it was pitch black and inside the car even though the lights were on I couldn't see where the temperature controls are or wh...

Re: Long Term Ownership.

Brilliant glad it's sorted! :) Yes, it can be quite worrying if you don’t know why a car is behaving in a particular way! I remember when my first DPF equipped diesel Golf performed a DPF regen and there was a strong burning smell. I thought the car was on fire! @S_94; I’ve sent you a PM but it mig...

Re: Long Term Ownership.

I've yet to see an electric car that I liked except for the Model S / 3. Hopefully they look better in the future. Shows you how tastes differ, the M3 reminds me of a 1990s Chrysler Neon and I wouldn't have one because of it. It’d be the Polestar for me if I was in the market for an EV and money wa...

Re: Long Term Ownership.

Not to disrupt the thread, but has anyone here had their exhaust get louder? Got in it today after a few days standing and the exhaust seems noisier. Can’t see any holes or damage on the ramps and it’s quiet at idle but noisier on acceleration. It’s also not in sport mode. It’s done 5500 miles so I...

Re: Bonnet gas struts

Bought some for my GTI, really easy to install. Just be careful you don't mark the paint when unscrewing/screwing the required bolts. 5 minute job. https://uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=70450&p=572990 Got mine from AliExpress for roughly £20. https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4000221447414.html There...
