hi again everyone. Haven't posted for a while.
Just wondering if any one can help?
I am considering fitting some mk3 golf seats, are these a direct replacement for the originals or will anything need modding to make them fit?
Thanks for all your help.
Luke

ummmm, It sounds like it could be the fuel pump. When you turn the ignition on can you here the fuel pump click in. It isnt very loud but usually if you listen good then you should be able to hear it.

Wires
You have probably got a faulty/broken wire sum where. Or your battery connection could be loose.

sorry
sorry my mistake.
I think I was wrong too. If you have had the battery disconnected or had any faults then resetting the ecu probably would solve it.
If that isn't the problem then you could always try the throttle valve.

Induction
I've decided that I need an induction kit. I'm really not sure what to get though. I was also thinking of a cold air induction kit from low down getting cold air.
Could any one help me on which ones are good and reccomend any for a 1.4 8v?
Thank you
Luke

No
nope it shouldn't need to be. Because your not replacing it with a new one. If you haven't got an engine warning light on then just cleaning it out shouldn't effect the ecu, and it will stop it sticking.

Throttle valve???
From the sound of it, I think it might be the throttle valve.
Sometimes the throttle valve gets all clogged up with crap and stuff. This makes it stick and not open and shut properly. Try taking it off and cleaning it out with some carb cleaner.

tyres
I have 16's. I asked at my local garage how much tyres are and they quoted me 45 quid each. I don't know the brand but they had temterture A, and Traction A, and tread wear 260, which I thought was quite good.

I couldn't get insured.
I'm 19 with one years no claims, coming up for two. I tried getting a quote but would be touched with a barge pole by any one. As all of the policies changed earlier this year to get insured on a gti myself I would have to be over 25, so I was told.
I now only own a 1.4 8v.
Oh well.

Does anyone know where I could get some like this which has the repeaters and lights built into 1? Or would I have to get some custom made??
Cheers
Luke

??
I would have thought that there is no imobilizer in it, but don't hold me to that.
You could try prizing it apart and seeing if there is a chip in it.
If I was you I would go and get a non-VW cut and see if it works. (It probably will). But if it doesn't then you have only lost about a 5'er ...

I havent got one
In my 1996 key there isn't an imobilizer. I have a little seperate thingy for the imobilizer. I know on the newer models there is an imobilzer chip put in them as you have to have a key code put in it or it won't open your doors or start the car.
