iPod Holder to IPhone holder??

Hello
I have just bought my son his first car. A VW Polo Match 80 1.4 2008 Plate.
It has a holder for an iPod wired in where a cup holder was. Will it be possible to change this so it will take an IPhone 7?
If yes, then how??
