Re: ciclo's Polo. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.

Thanks to ciclo for your recent help with my Up! I now have parking distance control! Wiring was reasonably straightforward and for the help of those who follow in my footsteps, the best place to tap into the powertrain CANBUS is at the ABS module which is in front of the centre console. That allows...

Re: ciclo's Polo. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.

The three pot TSI 90 is a truly amazing engine. My little Up! returned over 70 MPG over hilly country yesterday .I did the calculations and I think it is a good 15 Horsepower over the quoted output and that is at the wheels! Certainly I won't be tuning it soon, despite several 500 mile runs undertak...

Re: Engine wiring help

Don't worry unduly. Test that you have power to the coil and a spark at the points. If the starter turns, you probably have enough to start the engine. The small object about 2cm in diameter and 3cm long on the side of the carb needs 12 volts for the engine to run. If all of those are good, then eve...

Re: Polo 6R - Useful Part Numbers

Good evening, I am trying to find the number for the orange sixteen way connector housing that plugs into the 919 475 PDC module. This is the one that carries the power, buzzer and CAN BUS signals.
Is anybody able to help, please?

Re: An Up!

Hi Alex, I am in Poole, busily tinkering with lots of things, currently the Up which has Citigo mats, simple but effective sound reduction measures, a retrofitted cruise control and a proposed parking assist system, when it isn't out earning its keep!

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems

Yes, that's where it is going. The ECU connection is the last wire before VCDS coding on Monday. Thank you so much Ciclo for your help. I have been trying for three weeks to find what you found for me in a couple of hours. I raise my glass to you Sir and will let you know how it goes. Safe Journeys,...

Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems

Good afternoon. Please allow me to ask some advice on behalf of the Polo's little sister, the Up! After running a mark two hatchback which was a complete charm to own and is still fondly remembered for enjoyable, if leisurely 800 mile journeys, I bought a new High Up! TSI last year. I would like to ...

An Up!

My last VW was a Polo Mk2 hatchback with the 993 engine. Replacing the breather cured it of its smoking habit and it went slowly and very economically for years, being well put together and jolly useful. I have owned the Up! for a year. It is a TSI and is even more economical and jolly quick, due to...
