I was convinced my car was sat in the South African port for a month as my dealer continually told me it was ‘at status 30’. I only found out via VW customer service when I called up that it had been on a ship to Emden!

I’ve been waiting since 10th Feb 2018 however my dealer has just emailed me to say my car has arrived in the UK (Sheerness) and should be with them in 7-10 working days I received my 5b notification on 17/04 but haven’t had a tracker update yet!

I just got my 5b notification too does that mean it should be arriving in the UK in a day or so?

Do you think it’s possible that cars from different ships could get on the same ship at Emden? So for instance, my car should be arriving in Germany today, could it possibly get on the same ship as cars that have been sitting at the port for a week or so?

Yeah I’m guessing those time frames I said were their worst case scenarios, at the top end of how long it can take. That’s why I wanted to get an idea of how long others have waited. I can only hope it takes 12 days! I’ve been waiting since 10th February 2018

Finally got an update today - my car is due in Emden on 13/04. Customer service say once there it can take 15 working days to be loaded onto a ship and then once it’s arrived in the UK it can take 7-10 working days to reach the dealer.

Could all the people who have received the ‘in transit’ notification let us all know when they’ve arrived at the dealer? Mines due to be built next week (11/03) and I’m trying to get an idea of how long I’ll be waiting.
I know it can all depend but so far I’m hearing 6 weeks, 7 weeks and 8 weeks ...
