If I find it and remove the battery will that disable the

I've a '57 Polo GTI :)

I'm usually pretty handy at DIY'ing whatever I need to do but I'm struggling to locate the Siren that sounds (I assume the main alarm siren) when I lock/unlock my car. It's not the type that honks the horn.

I'm looking to either;

- Disconnect the siren completely ...
