I quite like the sound of it..although slowing down when you least expect it could get annoying as you say.
A pity it doesn't allow you to switch between automatic and manual cruise modes - in that case I would've definitely opted for it.

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
Ah yeah I see Okay.
I can't imagine it making much sense on a manual car either.
I've just ordered a United DSG model...comes with manual cruise but was still curious about the ACC 'experience' on the Polo.

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
I'm curious why the thread starter doesn't like ACC.
I've imagined it to be a very cool way of taking out the hassle of stop/start traffic and motorway cruises.
Doesn't it work as well as it should?

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
OK thanks for the info - very useful to know. That sounds like a good deal. All the used ones I'd found turned out to be speed limiting only on the stalk (despite often being advertised with cruise control). I've actually recently ordered a new United model which comes with it on the steering wheel ...

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
Getting close to my ideal spec now. Armrest done. Headlights upgraded to white bulbs. Window tints done. I really want cruise though, anyone any idea as to the cost of retrofitting it? To be clear I DO NOT WANT ACC, I really do not like that one little bit. Ordinary cruise is what I want. Hi, I don...

Re: Polo AW Photo Gallery
Just a few images of my wife’s new United spec in Atlantic blue after I’d treated it with chemical guys hydro slick. Very easy to use, will be interesting to see how far it goes compared to the 12 month claims This looks great. I've just ordered an identical model (United / Atlanta Blue) - should a...

I got your message but can't seem to reply to it (I guess because I'm a new member).
Just to say, thanks a lot for the info - really helpful!
I'll post back if I manage to fix it..
Cheers

Re: 1.0 110 TSI vs 1.2 110 TSI - which is best?
Had the same with my 1.2 TSI. Chiptuned the car and the nervous behaviour in the low gears / low rpm are gone. Definitely interesting. Could you say specifically what product you used to fix the problem ? (Or did you take it to a custom tuner?) Went to a custom tuner. Remapped the car from 90 Ps to...

Re: 1.0 110 TSI vs 1.2 110 TSI - which is best?
Small update - it's fantastic on the motorway - I don't miss my old 2.0 tdi in terms of power. But it's jerky when starting off in 1st gear. The revs seem to jump up too much initially which makes it hard to be smooth. I wonder if it can be fixed with a remap? Had the same with my 1.2 TSI. Chiptune...

Re: 1.0 110 TSI vs 1.2 110 TSI - which is best?
Thanks very much for the detailed answer. I did take on board your advice, and also got my own impression that the 1.0 wouldn't be the best choice. I didn't get the chance to drive it but did plenty of research - it improves emissions but sounds like it's less smooth to drive and potentially not as ...

Re: 1.0 110 TSI vs 1.2 110 TSI - which is best?
It's been difficult to find a car in the right spec nearby (and work / time pressures) so haven't been able to make a direct comparison yet. I get the concept of a more 'mature' engine, but also thought maybe I should bite the bullet and go for the most modern design. Still undecided - and good to h...

Re: 1.0 110 TSI vs 1.2 110 TSI - which is best?
Very helpful - thanks.
I had been considering a 2015 1.2, I don't know if it's one of the early ones.
Maybe I'll steer towards the 1.0 version to be on the safe side.

1.0 110 TSI vs 1.2 110 TSI - which is best?
Hi all, As per the title, has anyone driven both of these and care to offer an opinion on which is best? Any thoughts on reliability or drive ability of the two? The 1.0 replaced the 1.2 around 2015 I think, but they seem to be about the same price / year, and both Euro 6. Was the 1.2 meant to be tr...
