Re: Help! Rear wheel humming noise. Polo GTi
Sorry for the double post, but does anyone have any updates? VW hasn’t replied to me in over a month (slipped my mind to chase them up because of work), but going to start chasing them up again to get a resolution.

LED headlamp retrofit
Hi guys, Has anyone with halogen headlights on their Polo's tried retrofitting the LED headlamps? There's a few videos on youtube which shows it as a straight plug and play with something like this. Just curious on what are people’s experience with retrofitting these and the quality/longevity (since...

Re: Help! Rear wheel humming noise. Polo GTi
Sorry for the double post but thought I’d update on my situation... the mooing noise is back after the dealership ground down my brake pads and “gave them a clean”. I phoned the dealership that I bought my car from and they said they could see on the system that there is a “PPI code” which is an in...

Re: Polo GTI won’t move at all!
Update: VW dealership pushed for the brakes to be changed, but VW head office is rejecting the claim, even though the dealership stated the brake pairs were found to be bonded with the rear disks, stated problem is a defect of the brakes and not wear and tear, and acknowledged the mooing sound. I ha...

Re: Help! Rear wheel humming noise. Polo GTi
Just had a call from VW this afternoon and they said that the issue has been found now and they say that the brake pads were poorly designed. They’ve ordered the new ones for me and the car is booked in for next week. I asked how long has it been since they found the issue and they said not long at...

Re: Polo GTI won’t move at all!
When your brake discs get wet, a light layer of rust will very quickly form on the surface of the discs - completely normal, due to the material used to manufacture the brake discs. If your handbrake seized on due to the formation of this light layer of surface rust (I’d hazard a guess your brake d...

Re: Polo GTI won’t move at all!
An update for you guys, so pretty much called VW and they sent a mechanic to look into it, and similar to what some others have said, he revved the car in reverse, leading to a loud clicking noises, followed by a loud clunk and the car was moving again. The sounds were quite loud and was not pleasan...

Re: Polo GTI won’t move at all!
I haven’t tried pushing the car in neutral (as I rather have my car sit in the garage and my garage is on a hill, so won’t be able to push it back in). I don’t think it will move however, given how the car reacted when I tried putting it to drive or reverse, definitely feel like a brake problem and ...

Polo GTI won’t move at all!
Hey guys, My Polo GTI is currently stuck in my garage and unable to move. The car turns on fine with no error code, however when I put the car to reverse or drive, it doesn’t not move at all. The car body tilts slightly like the car is trying to move, however the wheels do not budge like the brakes ...

Re: Dodgy Brakes
I have the exact same issue as you with the clunking on my new Polo GTI. Called two dealerships and I got told it’s normal. Haven’t seen any performance issues with the brakes, but I have yet to slam on my brakes. Will probably get it checked out after the break in period.

Re: Brake Clunk when coming to a complete stop
Yeah same here, it’s especially loud when driving the car for the first 10 minute s of the day, called up two different dealerships and got told it’s normal. Might bring the car in to have diagnostics run on it. Let me know if you manage to get this issue diagnosed. Pretty frustrating for a new car ...

Brake Clunk when coming to a complete stop
Had my Polo GTI 2019 for a week now and only travelled 150km so far, and I notice my brakes makes a clunking sound when my car comes to a complete stop when I brake. The clunk sound subsides and eventually dissapears after 15-20 minutes of driving. I called up the VW service dealership and they said...
