yeahhnl wrote: Sat Jan 09, 2021 4:31 pm Would 8x18" wheels with 225/40 tyres cause any problems on the Polo GTI (AW)?
I'm just wondering would they fit nicely and would it affect the speedometer too much?
Yes they fit even with 35mm lowering springs.

Re: Long Term Ownership.

I have an early produced GTI (DSG) and while the car is fun to drive the amounts of issues I’ve had with it has had me seriously doubt whether I’d get another VW again. DSGs jerkiness at stop&go traffic. Moo’ing brakes on reverse Sound actor rattles Unknown rattle from rear compartment GPF regens, ...

Re: Polo GTI Issues(AW)

Hi

Headlights are adjusted on VW diagnostic Computer. which adjust the beams and beam throw and start up etc . Dont adjust the screws with a screwdriver, you could break the headlight LED motor. 15mins at the dealership and you are off.

Re: Polo GTI Issues(AW)

Hi,

Did they put your car on a 4D wheel alignment system?
Not all dealerships have this as it is quite costly.

The handbrake noise, small amount of white silicone grease fixes the issue.

Re: Standard Bridgestones / wet driving

Would VW knowingly fit dangerous or sub standard tyres to the Polo? If they are passed as fit for use BS standard then it may be down to individual preference. Not sure if there are any tyres that allow you to use full throttle in any situation without the car feeling unstable. Substandard is a mat...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

Today I had 4x 225/40/18 Michelin PS4 tyres fitted and can tell the difference IMMEDIATLEY. Road noise is seriously a thing of the past and seems to wheel spin (tramp) much less than before, especially while cornering. Thankfully, the tyres fitted perfectly with no rubbing or scuffing of any sort. ...

Re: What is "G13 PLUS+" Coolant???

I was given G13 coolant by VW.

Don’t add distilled water! Only coolant !

Distilled water is for emergencies when you don’t have access to coolant.

How is the ride quality on the Eibach? Do you have pictures? [/quote] I think the ride is so much better now. You notice it more at speed as the car feels more stable. Looks wise, now looks like it should. I think there’s a few pictures on here but will post some later. Looks great, should have been...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Today I uninstalled my Thinkware F770 dashcam - if only they went in as easy - 20 min job to remove! Then I took my GTI chrome key loops off my keys and put them on the wife's keys. I took my flappy paddles off and put the originals back on. Need to empty it tomorrow night for trade-in on Friday. H...
