Re: Can you use the same type of bulb for dipped and main beam?

Hi, I currently have Osram nightbreakers installed on my dipped beam but I've been looking to find brighter main beam bulbs for my polo. Could I buy the exact same bulbs for the main beams or would they have a different power rating? All I know is they are both H7 bulbs but I'm not really sure what...

Re: Coolant Level Low

Is this common and/or something to worry about? Up until this point the car has only been used on short local journeys for the past few months while in lockdown, this was it's first real trip out and on the motorway, so not sure if that is a factor? Yes, its common. Factory fills up the coolant jus...

It is better to get the correct coolant and not mix the two, FYI.

Why?

Re: Errors in OBDEleven

Anybody tried to activate the off-road mode?
I managed to activate it without any problems on my Passat, but the Polo seems to resist the changes :)

Errors in OBDEleven

I have been trying to do some adaptations with OBDEleven, but I came across w few errors and glitches. I wonder if anyone of experienced the same problems. First one I would mention is when trying to change the speedometer dial, the display comes up with strange lines like there were two needles. An...

Re: Oh god, snow and DSG.....

I run two cars on snow with DSG and have no such problems. What I would recommend in the snow is to stick the driving mode to ECO and chuck the gearbox into the E mode instead od D mode. The changes are smoother and lower in the rev range - no hassles in the snow. Or just fit the right tyres. The a...

Re: Oh god, snow and DSG.....

OK, I'm on normal tyres and snow tyres would make a big difference - let's get that out of the way. But DSG in snow, I'd forgotten what a pain it is (we've had no meaningful snow here since 2010). Just that lurch you get as it changes down at around 12mph. No matter how gently you brake on snow, th...

Re: Downpipe Polo GTI AW 2.0

Hi! I have a 2019 OPF model. I plan to change to this: https://rstmotorsport.com/producto/downpipe-con-supresor-polo-aw-2-0-gti-inoxcar/ And I would have the following doubts ... Could you use this downpipe without remapping so as not to lose the warranty? Would there be a lighter remap "only ...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

I think it the main issue (if not the only issue) is cost. 215/40 R18 tyres in general are quite bit more expensive than 225/40 R18’s. In the UK, a 215/40 R18 Michelin PS4 tyre is as much as 30%-40% more expensive that the slightly larger 225/40 R18 size. If there wasn’t such a large price differen...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

If you are so worried about the bigger tyres rubbing but still want to go Michelin route, then just get the Michelins in standard 215/40/18 size and your worries are over. Then you know they will not rub and you have a superior tyre.
