Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?

Do you know anyone else locally with the same car/engine to compare with? Maybe your car has a problem? Nah, I'm happy enough with mid 40MPG at 70mph. Just weird when people get a lot more. Cruising at 70 is the same no matter who's driving. I suppose it's feasible changing the fronts to Michelin C...

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?

Been down to the South Coast recently in my 95ps and checked the real consumption. Light traffic driven steadily but not slow got me 56.4mpg worked out properly. M1/M40/A34/M3/M27/A31 was the route taken so mostly 70mph. Still under 2,000 miles too. Coming back I "made progress" plus had ...

Re: New Polo SE 95 - problems

Just a thought, I have a rattle and discovered on another post on here that it's the handbrake button that vibrates! I have been looking for the post but can't find it now but someone commented about the button vibration and it was packed out somehow to stop it, I would love to find that post if an...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Get it back to the dealers. They might admit to it or say "I don't think it's us, but we'll sort it for you." They might just send you on your way with a flea in your ear. Nothing yo lose by keeping your cool and going to ask them to sort it due to it being highly likely it's them with th...

Cheers, monkeyhanger. I'm going to give my salesman a ring tomorrow to ask about these Polo recalls and will bring it up and see what he says.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Gave my car its first bath by me and have found what I can only describe as a......slipped with the screwdriver fitting the number plates gouge about 1.5 inch long  http://i.picpar.com/GEqd.jpg You can't see it unless you look up from below the number plate level or feel for it. It's going to ...

Re: Another Safety Recall...

I just checked my car and the VIN falls within the range of both of these recalls. I'm guessing that I shouldn't assume both of these recalls have been seen to on my car even though I only picked it up mid last month?

I'm guessing VW don't have a website/page to check these things?

Re: Heated Door Mirrors

I always thought on my Mii this was some sort of cost cutting thing on a city car but I guess not. It does seem weirdly illogical for a German brand! Saying that, it doesn't beat my works van for oddness here. That has the heated mirror button on the dashboard on the passenger side with a heated rea...

Re: New GTI + delivery

my SEL was off the line on 8/3, I'm keeping my fingers crossed but no call from the dealer. As an aside, does anyone know if there is limit to the size of the sd card that can de used to store music? I happen to have my manuals in front of me right now as I'm still looking things up! In the footnot...

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?

Finally got round to working out my first tank average MPG and it was 46MPG. That is a great start and I now expect to match or better the official 50MPG average in time. Car is loosening up nicely and my complaints of too high gearing have diminished greatly already. It is actually easier to drive ...

Re: What MPG are owners getting in the real world?

Did the first decent length (200 mile round trip) run to see in-laws and computer currently says 54MPG. Will do my short commute this week then fill up and work out a combined average. With under 500 miles on the clock it is an encouraging start. 4th and 5th are too high geared to be fair, with 4th ...
