Re: How to fix the 6N2 ABS Signal Outside Specifications Fault

Sorry, one more question about splitting the unit. Mine seems to have a set of small clips all around the controller so is it not possible to open it by prising the 13 little clips open all at once ?

Re: How to fix the 6N2 ABS Signal Outside Specifications Fault

Got your reply ok now and a PM sent. Old unit is split and wondering if one of the multipins in the bigger plug is causing a problem as the third one in from the top left shows no signs of scratching caused by being plugged into the female receptor. If thats not making a contact could that possibly ...

Re: How to fix the 6N2 ABS Signal Outside Specifications Fault

Hi Alex, still have the ABS problem but seem unable to send you a PM, any chance of finding some other way to communicate as this whole business is driving me crazy!

Re: rear wiper U/S

Thanks for that great tip off, we're in St Mawes, but Helston is a possibility for sure. I'll give him a call in the next few days and see what he says. Many thanks again. :D

Re: rear wiper U/S

Yes thanks, my problem is establishing a link between the relay and the wiper motor as one is buried deep under the dash ( pity its not under the bonnet/scuttle area like Audis ) and the motor at the rear of the car. Single handed its not that easy plus being 70plus patience levels are wearing thin ...

Re: rear wiper U/S

Anyone need a couple of 174 relays ? tried two now thinking that the second hand one I bought from fleabay might also be suspect. No such luck and the new relay clicks away like the other two so definitely not the relay. Convinced now its a break in the wire between the relay and the rear motor whic...

Re: rear wiper U/S

I'll try that idea, but not sure I was doing the correct actions with the relay to be honest........

Re: rear wiper U/S

Appreciate the suggestion, but having bought a second hand unit and connected the stalk up to the bit that triggers the relay, it still fails to work so I "think" that eliminates the wiper stalk on the column. Worth a thought. Have tried testing the relay, but unable to produce any reactio...

Re: rear wiper U/S

Thank you so much for your very comprehensive and informative help.

Will hopefully have another look at the car/relay tomorrow , time and weather permitting.

Re: rear wiper U/S

Looking at the wiring diagram, i'm thinking of connecting a test light to the output wire ( Black and red ) at the wiper motor end to see if I get a fluctuating pulse there , I'm presuming it has to be a fluctuation to give the intermittent wipe feature whilst the other wire ( black and grey )return...

Re: rear wiper U/S

Wow, thank you so much for all that information, and especially that wiring diagram as it certainly matches with the wire colours on the rear wiper motor. Also the description of the relay and the terminals. I cannot be sure but suspect this is the correct relay as the small wire that comes from the...

Re: rear wiper U/S

Hi, and many thanks for the reply. The relay in question that controls the rear wiper and in fact it also has an effect on the front wiper too is numbered 174 . From the main agents, NLA, but when it was it was in excess of £50 ! It is unusual in that it has a a "tail"..... a black wire wh...

Re: How to fix the 6N2 ABS Signal Outside Specifications Fault

OK thanks Alex, have been tearing my hair out with the rear wiper too. Supplied a direct battery current to the motor and it works fine . The other "power" wire is the self parking supply and that works fine too, but having had a little fiddle with trying to get power through from the rela...
